MY OTP? Here we go!

Well, during the years I watched a lot of anime, films and tv shows. I can finally write a little list of my fav otp of all of time:

Back to X-Factor now to see the second half of X-Factor’s fight with Freedom Force, and for the second issue in the Mutant Massacre crossover. You know what I like about Mutant Massacre? This is the second issue in the event and there is absolutely no indication on the cover of this comic that there is a crossover going on. If you’re reading both Uncanny X-Men and X-Factor carefully, it’s clear that some big shit is about to go down in the sewers, or is already going down in the sewers, but as a reader you are free to deduce this on your at your own convenience. And when it dawns on you that something tragic is about to happen, it’s revelatory. Usually, a big event like this will get hyped up for months beforehand. Usually, the marketable PR name for the event is advertised on the cover of each comic and the reader is carefully directed toward each issue of the crossover. And this creates preconceived expectations that something big is supposed to happen and it completely changes the way the reader consumes the material. The way this massacre is sprung on us is so much more shocking. (X-Factor #9 – Oct 1986)

I swear to fucking god. If Leech gets killed during Mutant Massacre… I’m done. Blog over. I’m not even going to keep reading. Go ahead and kill everybody else. Kill Kitty Pryde for all I care. Kill Sassafras the dog. If you kill Leech, who has no friends except his little fucking kitty cat that licks his tears because he is so sad all the time, I’m never going to read another comic book ever again. Destiny’s spider sense has been going off like crazy. Every time she looks into the sewers beneath New York City, all she can see is the blackness of certain, unescapable death. It’s almost like… a massacre is about to happen down there. It’s become obvious that the events of the last two issues are a much bigger deal than what they first seemed. It’s almost a Red Wedding moment when you realize… holy shit a whole bunch of people are about to die.

You know, it’s actually saying something when Mystique and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants would rather fuck off on out of there rather than face whatever is about to start killing everything down in the sewers. Actually, the fact that both the X-Men and the Brotherhood / Freedom Force are present and still Destiny can only perceive impending death, that’s really saying something about the power of whatever it is that’s about to happen. Oh hey look. Cyclops is sucker punching the Blob. Some things never change. X-Factor and Freedom Force have it out in the trenches of the New York sewers, right on the Morlocks doorstep. There’s a lot of posturing between the Blob and X-Factor as he recognizes his old enemies now that they aren’t in there human disguises. Nice to see that bit of continuity get recognized. Little Artie Maddicks, one of mutant refugees rescued by X-Factor, catches a telepathic glimpse of the Mutant Massacre getting underway in the sewers of New York. Geez is Cameron Hodge already evil here? He’s supposed to be handling PR work for X-Factor, perpetuating the cover that X-Factor is a team of mutant terrorist hunters, kinda like the Ghostbusters, but it seems a like he’s taking his job a little too seriously, going so far as to incite public fear of mutants and to be an overall jerk to little kids. How can you yell at little Artie when he's wearing those fish slippers??? (X-Factor #9 – Oct 1986)

As we saw during Uncanny X-Men #210, X-Factor was too busy with Freedom Force to meet up with the X-Men and Hellfire Club in Central Park, but afterward they do catch a glimpse of Magneto sneaking into the Hellfire Club to consider an alliance offered by Sebastian Shaw. Here is the full exchange that happens between the members of X-Factor as they speculate on what could be going on here. Hey! Why not just ask him what’s going on!
