WIP TAG GAME
Rules: In a new post, post the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them and then post a little snippet of it or tell them something about it and then tag as many people as you have WIPs.
Thank you for the tag @mycupofrum!
My current WIPs are:
Prongsfoot - revenge *is* the answer
Prongsfoot - prank goes wrong, bye Snape
Bingqiu (svss) - disciple SY's system
Prongsfoot - Marauder's Guide
Xicheng? (mdzs) - sunshot era, stormbringer
Ofcourse they are not so organised! The ship names at the beginning are for easier orientation (but I should really start using them in my docs too hah)
Tagging @solitaire-sol @lostwriter--xx3 @roalinda @soopsiedaisies @lovelymasks! No pressure of course 💕

The first is Huan, the protagonist and The second is the ML Xincheng.
I'll probably bring more drawings about them soon or later.
If you want to know anything about them, you can ask me too hahaha
[Jin Ling gets a tattoo. Jiang Cheng feels, established Xicheng, modern AU]
-
When Jin Ling gets home that evening Jiang Cheng is waiting for him by the couch, Lan Xichen in his office working but with his door wide open just in case he needs to step in. Jiang Cheng isn't angry exactly, Jin Ling is old enough to make his own decisions, but it doesn’t mean he has to agree with them.
“Uncle –” Jin Ling says, surprised, “I was studying with –” he starts, but quickly stops himself upon noticing Jiang Cheng's glare. He sighs, collapses on the couch. “So you know.”
“You think Lan Sizhui can lie to his parents?” He asks, crossing his arms over his chest. Lan Sizhui told Wei Wuxian about his tattoo not five minutes after he got home and Wei Wuxian called Jiang Cheng immediately, crying about his little boy not being a boy anymore.
His brother is pathetic.
“It wasn't my idea!” Jin Ling lies, Fairy coming to rest her head on his knees with a whine. The boy hides his face on her fur and Jiang Cheng rolls his eyes.
“Try again.” He scoffs. Jiang Cheng raised his nephew, watched him grow from a baby to a little boy and then to a rebellious teenager who tried to appear angry but has always been very soft inside. Jin Ling can't lie to save his life and Jiang Cheng is proud of the man he is becoming.
He doesn't want to admit it but maybe Wei Wuxian's whole 'my baby is growing too fast' speech may have gotten to him too. He hears a cough coming from the other room and knows Lan Xichen is laughing at him right now.
“Fine!” Jin Ling throws his hands up, defeated. “It was my idea!” He gets up, takes his jacket off. “I know you said I'm too young and that I would regret it but –” he sighs, looking down, “I just wanted to get something for them.” He says, turning around and lifting his shirt up to his ribs where the irritated skin is covered with plastic.
The tattoo is beautiful, Jiang Cheng admits. The lotus flower is placed on Jin Ling's left ribcage and when Jiang Cheng gets closer he notices the small letters on each side of the drawing. JY and JZ.
Jiang Yanli and Jin Zixuan.
He feels his eyes water. This boy, his boy, is brilliant.
“Did it hurt?” Jiang Cheng finds himself asking. Jin Ling lowers his shirt, looks at him with wide eyes.
“A lot.” He admits with a soft smile.
“Good.” Jiang Cheng lies. Jin Ling's only reaction is to laugh. “You better take care of it.” He turns around, heads to the kitchen. “I'm not cooking tonight so we're having leftovers.”
“It's fine.” Jin Ling says, taking his jacket and beginning to climb the stairs before quickly rushing back to hug Jiang Cheng. “Thank you, uncle.”
“Yeah, yeah.” He says, patting Jin Ling's hair, remembering when his nephew could barely reach his waist.
Shit, he's getting as emotional as Wei Wuxian. Gross.
–
“You handled that very well.” Lan Xichen says later that night when they are getting ready for bed. His smile is soft when he opens his arms and Jiang Cheng promptly hugs him.
“I hated it.” Jiang Cheng confesses, hiding his face in the crook of his partner's neck. Here, in the privacy of their room, he can relax, leave his mask outside and just be Jiang Cheng – not the constantly annoyed brother or the protective the uncle, just himself. “My sister and her husband – they trusted me with him and I – Xichen, why did I hate it?”
“Oh, my love.” Lan Xichen whispers, holding him tighter and pressing a kiss on the top of his head. “You raised him, of course you love him like he is your own son.”
“But he isn't!”
“Maybe not by birth, but in your heart,” he says, “and in his, you are his father too.”
“It's selfish.” He mutters, silently praying for his sister's forgiveness. He told Jin Ling about his parents, gave him the pictures, showed him videos and shared stories, but it will never be the same. He wants him to know and remember Jiang Yanli and Jin Zixuan, but why does it hurt too?
Jiang Cheng presses himself closer to Lan Xichen, hating how self-centered and dreadful he sounds, jealous of his own dead sister. He doesn't deserve Lan Xichen and he definitely doesn't deserve Jin Ling.
“It's human.” Lan Xichen corrects gently. “You love him, my love. Jiang Yanli would be happy to know you're taking care of him like she would, I'm sure of it.”
“I wish she was still alive.” He sobs.
“I know, love,” his partner agrees, softly, “I know.”
Hours later when he's tired and Lan Xichen has kissed away all his tears, he whispers, “I love you”, and Lan Xichen whispers the words back without hesitation.
–
Jin Ling decides to get another tattoo after he graduates college. This time he takes Jiang Cheng with him, forces him to hold his hand as the tattoo artist adds two letters to the previous drawing.
JC.
Jiang Cheng.
He scolds his nephew, threatens to ground him despite the fact Jin Ling is now twenty five and not living with him anymore.
That night Lan Xichen holds him again as he cries sad, touched, regretful, and so – so happy.

♦ Just Two Lost Souls by Rivlee
Even if it is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife, husband, or companion, all Jiang Cheng really wants is to run his company, take care of his pets, and maybe get some sleep. Unfortunately the new job promotion to CEO comes with a loaded social calendar and a need for some sort of companion. So clearly the most sensible answer is to start dating the man he's had a crush on since he was a teenager.Because nothing could go wrong there.
♥ my heart is stone (and still it trembles) by Christian_Richtown
In an effort to get his council to stop forcing the marriage issue on him, Jiang Cheng decides to scare them into submission by marching into Cloud Recesses and proposing to the First Jade of Lan himself. It's a brilliant plan really and there's no way Lan Xichen will do more than laugh at the joke. The council will shut up, Jiang Cheng's marriage annoyances will stop, Jin Ling will get to enjoy some snow, and everything will go back to normal. So to say he's unprepared for Lan Xichen actually accepting his hand in marriage is a bit of an understatement.
♥ Shameless by ElectricFeline
After a night hunt gone wrong, Jiang Cheng accidentally becomes a myth after surviving the unsurvivable. Lan Xichen has to now deal with the aftermath of a painkiller-tea-dosed concoction that Wei Wuxian comes up with to make sure Jiang Cheng has no pain. Problem is, no one knows how to deal with Jiang Cheng on any sort of substance beyond alcohol and they're pretty sure they're not ever going to want to again.
♦ You & Me Baby, We'll Eclipse The Sun by 2501987
This AU is a Mafia/Gang universe set in Shanghai - a little fucked up (this is an understatement) and shows a lot of morally degenerate, obsessive behaviour between our four main men. Expect a lot blood, murder, possessive relationships that border on unhealthy, a stupid amount of life-threatening situations, along with gore and lovemaking.
♥ How to Escape Your Problems and Live Your Life in Denial – the Jiang Cheng Edition by Bgtea
So, this may not be the life Jiang Cheng's imagined for himself - he’s living in an apartment slightly bigger than a closet above a café filled with sassy, judgmental cats, penny-pinching and coupon-cutting his way to stave off starvation and scurvy. And of course, just to make his life more complicated, there's the Lan Xichen Problem.
♦ The Beginner's Guide To Moving On by messenger18
Jiang Cheng is jaded, bitter and miserable. Lan Xichen isn't sure he can ever trust anyone again. They've always been at the periphery of each other's lives, perpetually visible but never touching, and it seems it's going to stay that way. Then Jin Ling and Lan Sizhui fall in love, and everything changes.
Thrown together as the only single men in a family full of couples, neither is exactly happy about their situation. But when two lonely people find each other, sometimes they can be a little less lonely together.
♥ S.C.I. 谜案集 by The_Sassiest_Trixster
It was a foggy morning in Gusu as a young to middle aged man lay in the middle of the street, his throat slashed as blood from his neck pooled next to him. All around the body, onlookers were gasping and staring while a tall young man with light skin, long black hair tied in a high half-ponytail, and brown eyes dressed in black pants, a red dress shirt, black tie, and black suit jacket overlaid with a long black trench coat trimmed with red, knelt next to the body, studying it. As more and more people kept coming to look at the body, a police van suddenly pulled up and a few officers stepped out, heading towards the scene.
♥ Of Clouds and Rain by LazuliAlekto
Xichen sat back, hands steepled in front of him. The cat revealed its claws, he thought. He waved away the comment dismissively. “We are not discussing everyone, we are speaking of my brother…and yours.”
“Fine,” Jiang Cheng answered, but his eyes sparked with a successful hit made. Xichen was thankful that Sect Leader Jiang had let it lie.
“So, we come back to the issue at hand. What do wish me to do, Jiang Wanyin?”
Jiang Cheng leaned forward, a devious look on his face, “you and I, Zewu-Jun, are going to get those two idiots together.
♥ World Where Roses Bloom by 2091981
After the fiasco at Guanyin Temple, Jiang Cheng is, to put it simply, a complete and utter mess. He still can't face Wei Wuxian, still runs away from the knowledge that the warm, shining core isn't his. Jiang Cheng is slipping, the rage, fury, and hate are washed away, leaving him cold and lonely.
Lan Huan is bitter. His warm smile warps into a malformed quirk of his lips, and his eyes are blank. He should have done something, anything. He knows now, don't trust so easily, or he would get hurt.
Or, a fix-it cause I can't bear to leave both of them hurting and alone. ABO to make things a lil more interesting!
♥ The Red Thread of Fate by Tidecaller
Jiang Cheng is a young, troubled Yunmeng Jiang discipline when he first gets to know Lan Xichen, and the bond they form will be fundamental to the events of the dark future that awaits.
Or: A re-imagining of how the two future Sect Leaders got close to one another during a time they both needed it, and how much things change because of it.
Can you tell more about Huan and Xincheng? Are they cultivators?
Oh yeah, of course!! And Yes!!! They are!
Both are from Longhe Sect. Huan is a new junior and Xincheng is a Peak Lord who has not accepted new disciples at his peak for the past 10 years. But Huan is an old cultivator reborn in the past, in his 18-year-old body. To prevent a catastrophe that happened in his last life from happening again, he needs to get closer to Xincheng.
About their personalities:
Huan is happy and sympathic but due to the traumas he experienced in his past life, because of the traumas he suffered in his last life, he sometimes becomes serious and reflective. You can compare him with young Wei Wuxian (if you know the character) but... Huan is less annoying and he doesn't like to break rulles just for fun.
Xincheng is the youngest Peak Lord of Longhe (he is 23 years old) and has just five disciples. he's serious and is interpreted as rude sometimes, but he's misunderstood. He doesn't understand subtleties and always gives the most direct answers which hurts people sometimes, but he doesn't do it for bad. He also doesn't understand a lot of human emotions because he has never experienced them himself.
