The months since the outbreak had been tough, never knowing if they were going to make it through to the next hour, never mind the next day. As always, Rion woke early, as unrefreshed as ever. Comfort was a luxury they couldn’t afford. Planting a soft kiss on Lucy’s forehead he crawled out of the tent, letting her sleep for now.
Standing there in the woods his hand reached for a pack of cigarettes only to remember that he’d run out a long time ago, the stress of survival increasing his need but not letting him get any more. He really should have taken the opportunity to quit when he had the chance.
His hand was passing over his chin making Rion think about how much he needed a shave when he heard a sound behind him. In a flash his hand had drawn a knife, ready to do or die before he recognised it as someone trying to get out of the tent. He smiled as an all too familiar head of black hair poked its way out, still surprised at how Lucy could look so beautiful so early. “Morning, sleepyhead,” he said as they wrapped their arms around each other.
“Morning, fuzzface,” she muttered into his chest.
There was a time when Rion would have hated a routine like this, when he would have given anything for something different to happen each morning. But now all he wanted was just one constant and he could get through things. He could live as long as he had this.
They packed up what few possessions that they had left before setting off, another long day of walking ahead of them. They talked, of course, Lucy having taught Rion talking’s two most important uses: to open up and to distract yourself. He’d been needing both of them recently.
It was already late afternoon by the time the pair had reached the clearing, bodies weary but knowing they still had so much further to go. But there, right in the centre was a camp. It’s walls may not even have reached ten feet high and be made of timber but it was protected all the same.
“Do you think it’s safe?” Lucy asked, still hopeful despite their ordeals.
“I don’t know.” He’d become more used to admitting that lately. A group of five left the camp, heavily armed and looking like they knew what they were doing. “I think that it might be,” Rion corrected himself, voice beginning to crack with feeling.
Without thinking, the two turned to embrace each other, arms enclosing them tight in comfort and protection, everything they wanted, everything they needed and now, everything they could get.

Who asks the other on dates:
Both. Rion’s dates are normally more elaborate ones that happen every now and then because they require so much planning; whilst Lucy’s are a lot less formal affairs and so come around practically every week.
Who is the bigger cuddler:
Lucy definitely starts the cuddles a lot more often, if she could, she would cuddle practically all the time. Rion, whilst not usually starting them enjoys them as much as, possibly even more than, she does even if he never actually says so.
Who initiates holding hands more often:
Lucy. Considering how Rion normally walks around with his hands in his pockets and Lucy’s arms linked through his, she often has quite a fight to get his hands into hers, even if the resistance he offers is only a mockery.
Who remembers anniversaries:
Rion. He’s the one who’s been planning what they’re going to do months in advance and he could just not let it go if he forgot about it even once.
Who gets more jealous:
Lucy openly gets more jealous, but this is based more on her own insecurities about her own self-worth than anything Rion does, even if his hanging around with pretty girls doesn’t help. For Rion, he thinks that she could do a lot better than him, a fact which is recognised in the twinge of pain he feels whenever he sees Lucy talking to a genuinely nice guy.
Who is more protective:
Rion by a country mile. If anyone so much as looks at her the wrong way it doesn’t take long before he’s right up in their faces with an angry grin. It’s only Lucy’s pleading that causes him to back down.
Who dislikes PDA the most:
Rion. He just doesn’t see the point, or really like, showing how much they care about each other when both already know it. it’s just not his style. To Lucy’s credit, however, she is trying to get him to be more open in front of people about his feelings.
Who kills the spider:
Neither. Even though she’s scared of them, she calls for Rion to come and get it and let it go outside. She could never hurt something such as that.
Who asks the the other to marry them:
Rion probably. It’d be on the rare occasion that he just randomly takes Lucy on a date without much planning which ends up with a night-time broom-ride. Caught up in the moment and her beauty the question would just slip out, one of the few times he does something without thinking about it. If it were Lucy, she’d definitely plan the evening out to make sure that it’s just right.
Who buys the other flowers or gifts:
Rion. He’d just be doing his general daily things and see something for sale that reminds him of Lucy and no matter how much she protests about him spoiling her he can’t stop himself.
Who would bring up possibly having kids:
Lucy. After bringing Issy into their home to look after, Lucy’d think about what it would be like to have kids of her own. Thoughts which she subtly drops to Rion over an extended period of time.
Who is more nervous to meet the parents:
Rion, definitely. He’s not the kind of person that parents generally like to see their daughters with (despite his charming demeanour) and with the stories that Molly has undoubtedly told Percy it makes for an extra nerve-wracking experience. It takes much nagging and encouragement from Lucy to actually get him to agree to come, never mind step through the front door.
Who sleeps on the couch when the other is angry:
In the rare event that they actually go to bed angry it would be Rion. If Lucy’s upset he considers it to be his own fault and lets her have the bed out of a desire to be kind to her and a form of self-punishment for him.
Who tries to make up first after arguments:
Lucy. She’s such a naturally kind, caring and forgiving person that she can’t bear it when they’re angry at each other and not enjoying the time that they have together. Rion just tends to find it harder than many to admit when he’s wrong.
Who tells the other they love them more often:
Lucy, by a long way. For her, declarations of love happen virtually every minute and seem to be added as punctuation in and of themselves. Rion, tends not to say things like that, instead letting his actions and the way that he looks at her do the talking instead. But he is learning just how to say what he feels towards her.

“Fuck? Would have to be Dominique. Seriously, she’s such a tease and her body like damn. She’s just too hot and wow. I just want it to be over. And then be over again. And possibly a last time. Maybe a few more times after that. Preferably spread out over a few days. Of course, if that situation was repeated many times over many days I really wouldn’t mind,” he added with a cheeky grin.
“Marry? Lucy,” he mumbled under his breath, not wanting to elaborate any further.
“Unfortunately, this does mean that I’d end up killing Lily and as long as there aren’t any repercussions from the Potter-Weasley’s I could live with that. Even if she seems pretty sweet.”

Falls asleep on the couch:
Definitely Lucy, Rion tends to be the one who stays up late doing things and seeing Lucy on the couch would most likely carry her up to bed, then get in next to her.
Makes friends with the neighbours:
Lucy. Hands down. Every. Single. Time. Rion definitely would prefer for them to just live by themselves, not really interacting with the neighbours apart from the odd hello when they pass each other in the street. Lucy, however, is one for making friends with everyone (baking cakes obviously helps with that) and far too often would Rion come home and find strangers in the kitchen. He gets tired and slightly worn down by it but if it were to make Lucy happy then he puts up with it.
Is the adventurous eater:
Both, but more Lucy. Rion tends to like what he knows, but is willing to try things, especially if Lucy offers. Lucy is more for trying out anything she can get her hands on. They do both engage in the classic couple’s action of feeding each other at the table, even if most seems to end up on the table.
Hogs the covers at night:
Lucy af. Seriously, Rion wakes up far too often to find that only the lower half of his leg is under the covers. Not that he minds, it gives him an excuse to snuggle up to her. (Even if he never really needs one.)
Forgets to do the dishes:
Both. Rion’s normally too busy thinking or getting work done to remember such mundane things as the dishes. Whilst Lucy is normally so tired by the time that she’s done the baking that she just can’t do it. That or she’s onto her next project and the dishes have slipped her mind. Their dishes often pile up and only get sorted when they start to smell, which is never good if they have surprise visitors.
Tries to surprise their partner more often:
Both, but a little bit more Rion. Lucy sees that Rion gets stuck into routines too often, so she normally takes time out to arrange surprises, even if they are just little things. Rion, however, despite being in routines likes to go for the big things, surprise parties, surprise meals (even if they’re barely edible) and just doing whatever she wants him to for a day. He still tries to copy Lucy’s little surprises, though.
Leaves dirty laundry on the floor:
Lucy, really. Just like how she forgets the dishes, she forgets to pick up her laundry, which occasionally gets on his nerves, especially when it’s covered in dirt. With Rion, even if he forgets to actually put the laundry on (just like the dishes) he still arranges it into neat stacks for when it does get done, even picking up Lucy’s things.
Stays up til 2 AM reading:
Rion, he just doesn’t know when to stop. That and the fact that taking in knowledge is really important to him it can be tough to put things down. Lucy often has to physically the wrench the book from his hands when she wakes up to find him still reading.
Plans date night:
Both. They tend to take turns to plan those nights; Lucy’s often involve staying in with her cooking, whilst Rion’s generally involve nights out often ending with looking at the stars. Whatever happens though, they always seem to end up happy.
