Hi everyone! Just a short message to wish you all a happy new year! We hope 2017 will be a good year for you all.
We thank everyone who participated to our prompts list & we hope you guys enjoyed this as well :) (We’ll still look at the tag a bit if some of you are late in posting)
Day/Prompt: Day 30: Mistletoe from @xmasprompts list
Language: English
Characters: (OCs) Koto (Hufflepuff), Connor (Ravenclaw), Simon (Slytherin) (they’re all friends, in their fifth year I think, and Koto ships Connor and Simon and is trying to get them together. It’s set in our modern days, so Harry & cie aren’t there anymore. There’s no particular context actually, I just randomly wrote this)
Author’s note: This is for @peacockandyagi with three of our OCs, and it’s a day late because I wrote “Day 31″ on my file but it was for 30, oops ;) Anyway, here you go gurl, Koto’s about to be happy ;) Luv’ luv’!
Koto looked at the mirror and flattened her yellow striped tie. Today was the day. Today, they would fucking kiss. It was their last chance, if she had to watch them flirt one more day without realising how stupidly in love they were of each other, she would literally end up taking both their heads and slam them together so they'd kiss.
She wanted to do it constantly, she just hadn't properly done it. Yet. Nobody should ever be allowed to play with her nerves like this.
Taking a deep breath, she almost jogged downstairs, straight to the Great Hall, her hair bouncing as she jumped three steps every time. When she entered, she took another deep breath, this time to smell the delicious odour of BREAKFAST AT HOGWARTS. How she had missed this during the winter holidays.
“Koto!” a familiar voice called her, and she swirled around, her mouth full of... a lot of things, actually.
She smiled and waved at Connor. She had found the first half.
“Where's Simon?” she asked, not even trying to hide her intentions. When had she ever hidden her intentions?
Not that those two stupid boys noticed anything anyway. Connor shrugged and stared at the doors for a moment. Koto didn't say anything, observing him and blindly taking food behind her. She didn't know what it was, but it was good.
Connor looked almost sad. His brown eyes were looking, but not looking at the same time. He clearly was thinking. His blond hair were even messier than usually, which was good because Simon loved it like this, and he liked ruffling Connor's hair. Koto grinned as her plot became clearer in her mind.
Connor's face suddenly changed and Koto rolled her eyes. How came Simon had never noticed just how much Connor looked up at him? Without much surprise, Simon was walking in the Great Hall, his hair placarded on his head as usual, his dark eyes searching, and talking with a Slytherin girl. He seemed annoyed, though, and smiled only when he spotted Connor and Koto. Well, Koto stupidly waving probably had helped him.
“Hey!” Simon exclaimed when he arrived, and both his friends answered whereas the girl left, getting the message. “God, I thought she'd never leave. How was your first night back here?”
“Fine,” Koto smiled. “Connor, you put on some weight during the break, didn't you?” she said to her Ravenclaw friend who blushed instantly.
“Uhm... Yeah, huh... It's always...”
“Stop annoying him, he's handsome like this too. That's even cuter,” Simon winked at Connor, and Connor shook his head.
“We all have some time before class, care to join me in re-discovering outside?” Koto said, standing up.
Both her friends followed, and they talked casually, about their families and snow, mostly. When they stepped outside, Simon winced and took the scarf Connor offered him with a sigh of relief. Koto rolled her eyes. They already acted like a couple, why weren't they one?!
Soon, hopefully.
She grinned when she spotted the perfect place and walked a bit faster, her friends in tow. They stopped to talk, and Koto swore as she looked up. They just needed to be a bit closer... Just a little bit.... Oh screw this.
“Accio,” she whispered, trying to hide her wand as much as she could. It worked and she smiled triumphally. “Guys, look! You're under a mistletoe!”
Connor and Simon looked up, then back at Koto with the same look of annoyance.
“Seriously?” They said together.
Koto shrugged and smiled innocently.
“I guess you have to kiss, now,” she said.
“I hate you,” Connor mumbled, and Simon nodded approvingly.
They protested a bit, but then Koto just snapped at them they would die if they didn't – who knew, you don't break the magic of Christmas, or whatever – and they eventually looked at each other and shrugged.
Koto almost screamed of happiness. They closed their eyes and Connor tilted his head, Simon not moving. Then they kissed, first chastely, then Connor brought his hands up Simon's face and Simon put one of his on Connor's waist and they deepened the kiss and-- Wait.
“How long has it been?” Koto asked, her arms crossed.
They parted, and Simon hid his laugh in Connor's neck. Connor turned to Koto and smiled.
“What are you talking about?”
“You guys are together, aren't you?!”
“Mmh... Maybe.”
“Why didn't you tell me? I've been trying for ages to... Oh you bastards.”
Connor joined Simon when he burst out laughing and they took a long time retrieving a normal breath, Koto waiting with her arms still crossed on her chest.
“Well, it's been a few days only,” Simon grinned. “We just wanted to annoy your hard work.”
“I hate you guys.”
“Nah, you don't,” Simon winked at her.
She huffed in answer and turned away, pretending to be hurt, but mainly to hide her proud smile. They might have gotten her for once, but now they were together, and wasn't that just wonderful?!

Very first Part | All parts there (I’m sorry I’m too lazy to do each part)
Jack and Ianto had spent the day out with some friends, then had gone back to Jack's flat to set the last things that needed to be done before everyone came in.
Only their closest friends were here, because they didn't really want to do big, especially not Ianto who felt quickly uneasy in crowded places. Not that he didn't like people, but parties weren't his favourite things and he'd rather spend the night with some friends all talking to each other than a lot of people, without even talking to half of them. Jack hadn't complained, even if he had spent his last New Year Eves in crowded places rather than in a flat with only a dozen of friends – which was already a lot, true.
It was pleasant, they talked, they danced, they laughed, they even watched a movie – and laughed in front of it – and the night was great, and Jack and Ianto even kissed while dancing, without anyone annoying them.
The countdown to midnight was hilarious, and they totally missed the right time, but at least had a good laugh about it.
When the party slowly died out and that some went home and others fell asleep, Jack and Ianto left the main room to go to Jack's bedroom. When they entered, both smiling, Jack stopped, closing the door behind him.
“Hey,” he grinned, looking up.
Ianto followed his stare and rolled his eyes when he saw a mistletoe.
“So your brilliant idea was to put it in your own bedroom?”
“Yeah,” Jack smiled. “Guess that means you have to kiss me.”
“Were you afraid I wouldn't kiss you?” Ianto chuckled.
“I knew you would, I mean, I'm irresistible, obviously, but...”
“Oh shut up, I'm sure it says somewhere you have to kiss the person and stop talking,” Ianto sighed.
Jack laughed and pulled Ianto close, putting his hands on his waist to kiss him tenderly. Ianto responded then pulled back, his hands on Jack's chest.
“We're not having sex with people still in the house, right?” Ianto frowned.
Jack burst out laughing and shook his head. “Can't I kiss you without thinking of sex?”
“... Well. It usually goes in pairs with you,” Ianto shrugged.
Jack pretended to be hurt and kissed Ianto again to take his revenge.
“Oh, and happy New Year,” Jack whispered when they parted long enough for him to say something.
“It looks like it's starting well,” Ianto smiled.
They kissed one more time, then lay on the bed, not undressing by mere laziness, and fell asleep against each other.
Author’s note: It’s almost the end, and I think I finally got it right.
Previous Parts
"Family, there is something I have to tell you." Brendan announced and I instantly knew what was it about.
Caitlin blushed, but she would be heartbroken after this.
We already had dinner and we had certain things to admit. I kissed Nate, in the evening, right under the mistletoe. It would be just a thing I would say it was for tradition, but it didn't mean it like it. I enjoyed it. I loved the sweet taste Nate had on, and that made me feel burning inside. He gave me something to live for, something to think on.
He held me like he did that night, and this time he promise to loved me properly. He kissed me passionately right after he broke with the other girl. This time he felt stronger, and confident about what he did. He had a strong mind, but I just wanted to have the same safety as him while doing something.
He promise to gave me a college opportunity too, and he even told Brendan he would do everything for me if I moved with him. He promised to stop drinking and he would leave weed if I went to LA on January.
Brendan thought it was perfect, I just prayed things wouldn't get tough. While Nate kissed me and promised me he would protect me, Brendan was in trouble too.
He asked Ashley to marry him and George agreed with it. Brendan didn't think on Caitlin in that moment, he only had Evelyn around. He told me he would send me money if I needed, right after we realized they probably would hate us. My college wasn't in the plans anymore, I only had Brendan and he only had me.
"What is it?" Eric asked sitting near Susan. I stayed next to Brendan and he smiled me.
"I-" He paralyzed and I held his hand. "I have a daughter."
Everyone looked at Cailtin confused, they thought she was the one with the daughter. Garrett clenched his fist angrily. Caitlin's face went from in love, to confusion.
"But baby, I'm not pregnant." She cleared and tried to smiled.
"No Cait, he already has a daughter." She stared at me angry while I interrupt. "And you aren't the mother." She stood up in a minute and slapped Brendan. Then she went to slap me but Susan held her. She was totally destroyed.
"This is-" Susan tried to order her thoughts but was really angry too. "This is unbelievable. I can't believe after the confidence we've gave you, you do this to us. To our daughter."
"Susan, I mean-" Brendan tried to explained but I just wanted to let this feeling out of my chest. I felt angry with them too.
"No, what is unbelievable is that you think we planned this. Let me tell you, we aren't just like my parents used to be to plan everything." I answered and she looked me worse.
"No, let me tell you girl. You're worse than your parents used to be. I'm glad they're finally dead." Susan admitted and Brendan looked at me.
"We've been supporting you since the beginning. I can't believe how many times I convinced myself of my kids marrying you two, but you're so rotten." Susan continued and Eric went with Garrett to take Caitlin out of the living room. "You" Pointing at Brendan. "Your mom told us how you fucked up your life with a little skank in highschool. You ruined your future once again." Brendan grabbed my hand.
"Mom!" Garrett shouted interrupting. He lied me.
"Leave my house, right now." I shouted and Susan looked confused at me. "We trusted you for years, we gave you our home, we don't want you anymore." She was about to shout me something when I interrupted her."Leave my fucking house!" I shouted louder and opened the door for them.
Eric was grabbing the bags of everyone and one by one went outside.
"I hope we never see people like you anymore." Eric murmured going out.
Cailtin was crying and Garrett punched Brendan right after going out.
"This won't be our last, baby girl." He said kissing me, and I slapped him.
I finally closed the door and Brendan who was crying hugged me.
"You know, We weren't the problem." He said and hugged tighter.
We were used, and we felt toxic, but it wasn't our fault. It was because of them.

Very first Part | Where they’ll all be eventually (I’m sorry I’m too lazy to do each part)
Getting a flat ready to celebrate the New Year Eve with Jack Harkness was something hard. He kept distracting Ianto, and his hands kept wandering on spots in Ianto's body that resulted in him not being able to concentrate on the task at hand.
They managed to finish by the end of the day, even if Jack said it was perfect except for one thing. As Ianto was tidying everything, Jack coughed behind him and put something in Ianto's hair. Ianto frowned.
“Hey! Look at this! We're under a mistletoe!” Jack exclaimed, grinning like a mad man.
Ianto rolled his eyes and took the mistletoe away from his hair, then tilted his head to kiss Jack briefly.
“Not fair,” Jack pouted. “It specifically says that you have to snog the person.”
“I'm not sure,” Ianto smiled, patting Jack's chest.
“What if it makes me happy?”
Ianto laughed and kissed Jack properly, then pulled away and pursed his lips.
“So, do you want to put it somewhere?” Ianto asked, showing the mistletoe.
Jack thought for a moment.
“I'll deal with this,” he said, nodding to himself.
How the day started was different than how it ended.
Brendan felt different, I knew it, I felt it too.
While he hugged her, I stared at him from the other side of the room. We would had to deal with Caitlin when we went back. She had some ideas based on what she wanted, she didn’t want to be a mom at this age and it wasn’t even her daughter.
I noticed how since Brendan made official what they had, she was different. One night she told me. She mentioned how now she looked at Brendan and imagined a future with him. Imagined how to have a family with him would be like and how much she daydreamed about it.
Now it would be impossible. Nate knew it, Ashley knew it, I knew it. And I was nervous because of the fact they’d find out and everything lost it’s way.
I loved Garrett. Since I was little I felt saved and felt I had someone to keep an eye on me when no one else did. I loved the way his lips curled to form a bright smile or just stared at the ceiling after he felt tired. The way his neck made me that little space where I had a perfect view of his tired eyes combined with the light from the outside.
But Nate made me felt special. He made me feel loved. He made all the details matter and made the feeling growing bigger in my chest. He made me felt flawlessly strong. But it was impossible to read him. In all this time, I haven’t had much info about him. Not even his thoughts, his ideas or how we could even exist. He loved girls with curves, and easy dresses. I never grew to be that girl.
I rather be an “inside out” lover. Brendan was that too.
He had a lot for Caitlin and he was always a gentleman with her. He loved her hair and how comfort she made him feel. He followed the stereotypes mom showed us, about best friends who turned to be lovers, they marry and every one loves their story. He wanted that to his kids, but he was far away of giving it to them.
He loved Ashley. He knew she would be the love of his life, but he said the opposite all the time. They went together on trip many times, they fought, they loved each other so much. When Ashley left, he knew another love like that, he couldn’t have any more. He fought as much as he could, but it wasn’t never enough.
Ashley loved him too. And I knew it, the way George -her husband- knew it. She showed me pictures they took one time they escape and ran away to Queens. They went to a club and sneaked in a private swimming pool. George loved her, but she was clear all the time about her love to Brendan, and he respected it. He was famous, but if Brendan asked him, he would agreed in any minute to divorce.
Brendan knew Evelyn was his daughter. He knew in the moment he saw her, this little girl, was his entire life.
That night I went to the park with Ashley, we I arrived, he told me he knew everything but he was scared of what was next to us. I was scared too. He called Ashley and asked her the big question. At the next day, we asked Susan to go out for a while. Ashley canceled the dinner she had because her daughter had the most important meeting in her life.
Nate called and I exploded. I told him the truth and how I couldn’t properly swallow it. He arrived there and hugged me. I needed to feel loved again.
Evelyn got a flu that night and she stayed in her room when Brendan came to see her.
Day/Prompt: Day 29: Snowing outisde (or inside) from @xmasprompts list
Read it on Ao3 or FF if you prefer :)
Very first Part | Where they’ll all be eventually (I’m sorry I’m too lazy to do each part)
“My mum will kill me if she knows I'm here,” Ianto sighed.
“You're not far from your house, it's okay,” Tosh shrugged.
“It's just that I was sick yesterday but feel better today...”
“I told you I'd give you a magic hug!” Jack exclaimed and took him in his arms.
Ianto rolled his eyes but still responded to the hug, burying his face in Jack's neck because it was so warm. When they parted, Ianto pouted, and Tosh burst out laughing. They walked in the streets for a while in the snow, and stopped when it started snowing a bit more. It wasn't long, but the snow still stayed, and it was far enough for a snowball fight, because that was the sole point of snow, right?
Tosh threw the first to Ianto, who ducked, knowing his best friend well, but didn't warn Jack who took the ball in the face. Both his friends laughed, and it was the beginning of war. Ianto and Tosh were now masters at ducking balls, but Jack was used to his brother, who threw with much less strength and... mischief. Tosh and Ianto were trying to get snow in his clothes, and that just wasn't fair.
It didn't mean that Tosh and Ianto were together against Jack, as Tosh soon found herself under a tree, and Ianto threw a well-placed snowball with just the right strength to shake the tree a bit. Part of the snow on the branches fell on her, and Ianto was clever enough to run away while Jack stood there, making fun of her. He regretted it as she didn't even throw a ball, but took a handful of snow and put it under his coat.
It wasn't a ball fight any more but a game of who would put the more snow in the others' faces. Tosh retreated behind a tree after a while – regularly checking if Ianto wouldn't pop out of nowhere and shake the tree – but Jack stayed in the middle, with Ianto. He was trying to put snow in his collar, and Ianto held him at arm's length, struggling so he would keep his advantage. Most of the snow Jack was holding ended up on the ground, but he still had some, and was winning their battle, so Ianto abruptly took a step away, and Jack stumbled and fell on the ground – maybe with a bit of Ianto's help.
Ianto realised his mistake when he felt Jack's hand tightened its hold on his wrist, and he fell with him, grunting as he hit a chest.
“Ah!” Jack soon yelled. “Cold!”
Ianto laughed but stopped when Jack put his arms around him. He rolled them over and put his hand under Ianto's coat with a large amount of snow and Ianto gasped.
“That's cheating!” Ianto exclaimed, and tried to move but chose to still so the snow wouldn't go on other spots.
Jack grinned above him and kissed his cold nose, then his lips, cupping his face. Ianto wanted to push him away, but it was warm and he responded. At the same moment he threw snow at Jack's face, Jack brought some on his neck, and Tosh arrived with her arms full of snow she let go on them. They both tried to get away and rolled on the side, then sat on the snow with a pout.
“That's for snogging in the snow,” Tosh smiled, her hands on her hips.
Ianto and Jack smiled innocently and got on their feet, all stopping the fight in a silent agreement. They walked Jack to the train station where they left him and went back home.
“Don't forget to come tomorrow.” Ianto smiled at Jack's text when he got out of a hot shower. Jack had asked him to come by to help him set the flat for the New Year Eve party he was throwing, and Ianto was more than happy to come give a hand.

“It's snowing!”
“You idiot, it's always been magic snow, not real one.”
“No, it's snowing! In my plate!”
“Me too!”
Indeed, everyone soon noticed it was actually snowing, and quickly. The ground was becoming white and students were rushing in and out, slipping and falling. It was not only in the Great Hall, but the whole castle. It was snowing everywhere and only the paintings weren't affected, some laughing, others putting their clothes closer to them as to protect themselves from the cold.
And it wasn't hard to guess who was responsible for this. Fred and George, two heavy scarves around their neck, were laughing and high fived then winked at Lee Jordan from across the room, Lee talking to someone else. He joined them quickly and hugged them cheerfully. The three were responsible, and really proud of that one.
Hermione shook her head disapprovingly while Ron looked around and Harry just stared at the snow.
“If they're so talented, why don't they work? They could be great,” Hermione said.
“Yeah, but they don't want to,” Ron shrugged. “Don't bother, Mum tried for all of us.”
“What are you doing?” Hermione asked, Ron putting his winter cloak over his plates.
“I'm not wasting any food,” Ron answered with his mouth full.
She rolled her eyes and turned to Harry who was looking at the twins and their friend.
“That was pretty awesome,” he smiled, turning back to his friends and the food, which disappeared at the same time the snow did.
Ron gasped, deeply hurt, Harry just stared at the tables, and Hermione got up. But food appeared again, dry and calling to be eaten, and Ron devoured it again, along with Harry. Hermione looked around to see that the twins and Lee were gone, probably off to accomplish some new mischief.
