alr...I have an idea 😁
This idea quite literally came to me in a dream...HEAR ME OUT GUYS!!!
SOO...what if I started an online newsletter called 'X Reader Magazine' or something like that. It would feature oneshots, blurbs, headcanons, and long fic/series recommendations for different fandoms. I also thought it would be a cool idea to add in a 'writer's help' section for tips and tricks to share among authors, or 'prompts and ideas' lists for authors who want them. Also maybe interesting articles like 'the history of fanfiction' and where reader and self inserts originated?
There would also be a downloadable and printable pdf for anyone who wants a physical copy, but pretty much all of it would be online.
I myself would be doing a lot of the putting together and stuff like that, but if anyone wants to work on it with me, we'd have a shared canva/ellipsus file so we can all put our ideas in. Maybe also a groupchat or something??
The way it would feature a fic would be like this: someone (including but not limited to me) would reach out to a fanfic author on Tumblr, AO3, Wattpad or Quotev to see about featuring their oneshot/blurb/longfic/headcanons in the magazine, and only if they say yes would we go ahead with it. Fics that are 100-3k words long would be featured in full length text, while longer ones would be featured as external links or fic recs (including multichapters). There would also be a team of people working on graphics, aesthetics, and structure, and also proofreading and making everything look uniform.
Obviously, this would be a labour of love for anyone involved, but if you'd be interested in reading something like this regularly, or if you'd like to be apart of the making of it, please reach out!! You don't have to be in any specific fandom or have any prior experience with something like this, just be a reader of 'x reader' fanfic and have an interest in reading, design, communication, and/or collaboration.
