how else am i supposed to talk. . . ? my parents would be better off. my brother wouldn't even miss me. my entire family would forget i existed after a funeral, if there even would be one. my friends wouldn't even realize i'm gone, they barely want me around as it is. and anyone else in my life? would just move on. . .

This was never a good sign.

One minute she'd been minding her own business, and the next minute she'd woken up in the dark with her hands tied behind her back. There was somebody back-to-back with her, and by the way they were struggling it was obvious they were awake and bound as well. Brooke blinked into the darkness and shook out her curls, wrinkling her nose at the musty scent that assaulted her senses.

Ah yes. Peru. Somewhere in the BC era. The natives had wanted to sacrifice her to IIIapa and Viracocha. Well this was a fine kettle of fish. Brooke took a breath and then decided to speak to her companion, trying first the native language, and then English just in case (though the chances of the person speaking the latter were highly unlikely).

Rose ran down the street, scanner in hand, looking frantically around for the thing she'd caught the signal of. Spotting someone nearby, she ran up to them. "'Scuse me...have you seen anything weird pass through here lately? It's sort of important."

"River," the Doctor exclaimed, flipping a switch dramatically as he caught sight of the woman entering the TARDIS. He was immediately by her side, throwing an arm around her and grinning widely. "Still breaking out of prison I see! To what do I owe the pleasure?"
