artist asks: 5, 6, 25, 29!!!
What’s your favorite thing to draw?
Ori, sometimes Kol, fat little balls of bird. Moths and butterflies are soothing, too.
What’s your least favorite thing to draw?
Fur, which is odd the amount of times I draw the fat ma’am that is Fish, but here we are. Some armour/clothing makes me reach for the gin, too. I need to go back to heavier backgrounds with interesting perspective, i’ve gotten more abstract over the years due to lazy- they literally take double the time.
Do you like to draw in silence, or with music?
Mostly in silence, which I know is unthinkable to people who really love music. Music is my daydream/thinking time, or when I need some inspiration. Going to experiment with podcasts next week, see if I can handle it.
I also drew to livestreams of bird nests all summer, which was lovely.
For traditional artists: How do you usually start on a big piece? (Light sketch, colored lead, sketchpaper, etc)
Really light pencils on something that can handle ink and acrylic (bristol board, watercolour paper, etc) then i lay down a lot of colour and shapes as soon as I can.
I realise I am relying a bit on Posca pens for detailng atm, and not sure if I like it.
