Okay, after thinking about it for a bit I decided to go with borrowedfeathers for my new username. It may be a little strange since cats don't have feathers, but I wanted a username that was both meaningful and one that I didn't use anywhere else so I could keep this identity separate. For the record, the username refers to this post I made just before I went on hiatus, and it's still a very precious one to me.

we are at a point where open transphobia and shittiness toward other ppl for their trans headcanons is considered acceptable because “the person saying it is trans!!” like. okay?? that doesn’t mean it isn’t a dickhead thing to say. that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t have been kept to himself + maybe a few trusted friends to vent to in private. that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be examined + worked on because its a toxic mindset that is harmful not only to himself but also to other trans people.

you guys will see an nd person call someone the r word and say “but they’re autistic!” INSTANTLY when anyone calls that shit out. all the while completely ignoring the fact that they still called another human being a slur out of malice and an intent to hurt. i would see people in my gsa call people they hardly knew the f slur and get confused when said person got upset or asked them to stop. once again, “but i’m gay!”

i’ve received asks before like “my lesbian friends made fun of someone for being a gay man, was that oppressive and homophobic? was that problematic?” and the answer is does it fucking matter? why do you need for it to be systemically oppressive? maybe your friends just fucking suck. regardless of your opinion on if that was oppressive on a systemic level or not, what they did was really shitty and wrong.

like wtf is going on! if someone’s being an asshole then they’re being an asshole and their identity doesn’t negate that! they’re being a toxic prick!! you don’t need any buzzwords to express that someone is being awful to others! your actions affect others and your identity doesn’t change that, end of story

On Jan. 6, 2021, historic lesbian activist, author, and musician Madeline Davis suffered a stroke.

Over the last 3 months, Madeline has traveled from hospital to rehab center and back again. She has struggled to see her needs met in medical centers overburdened by a global pandemic. Madeline’s primary support is her wife Wendy Smiley, but due to COVID-19, most medical centers won’t admit Wendy at all, and those who do permit family to stay for only short periods of time. Because of this, Madeline’s condition has worsened. At the end of March, the decision was made to bring Madeline home, where she could receive home hospice care and be looked after by Wendy, assisted by home healthcare aides.

Under the U.S. health “care” system, Madeline’s home hospice care is covered, but her home healthcare aide service is not. That service costs $16,800 per month.

sleep time, being one of the last escapes from the work addiction of capitalism, is of course something capitalism would naturally try to rid itself of (through sleep deprivation by constant overworking) or at the very least reframe into an indulgence of capitalist efficiency (quantifying sleep into an ideal amount so one can be maximally mentally and physically prepared to work at the lowest temporal cost, instead of sleeping whenever and waking whenever and working when you feel like it)

and the reframing of sleep as an exception to or an obstruction to a natural state of working is just like... people don't even know what its like to be rested, consistently rested. they only know convulsive reactions to exhaustion. sleep is a waste of time, sleep is inefficient, sleep can and should be ignored as long as physically possible, as much as possible. an anxiety about human existence brought on by capitalism
