Have a reference for the new boy, Astor.
I still have a huge backlog of Watcher art to get through, but since I wanted to have a level 1 reference to see how Astor progresses and he's level 3 now, I thought it was probably best to get this out there sooner rather than later. Otherwise he'd probably be level 20 by the time I get to posting it.
So here's a snapshot of the monochrome boy before he no doubt has many clothing changes and design tweaks, either because I want it or his campaign leaves its mark on him. For now, he's just an average, numb-to-everything greyscale hunter boy... Who's most certainly not going to be my "do everything Watcher wouldn't dream of doing" character as I go from playing a holy good boy to whatever Astor will end up as...(spoilers, probably not the goodest boy, I wanted a Watcher contrast after all).
SOON
Our Pathfinder campaign is my top interest right now and there are a whole 8 other people in this fandom who have to listen to me scream, but not about something concerning my character that I don't want to spoil that only me and the GM know about, and I have to wait until August something until we play again, which is like, forever.
Three adoptables I bought from @terrorseed some time ago. I recently finished all three so here they are. From top to bottom
Jennifer, albino mutt who keeps her distance from others. Was raised in a well off household and would spend a lot of time with her parents when she was younger. Her aunt and uncle would visit too which she enjoyed but they always brought along their daughter, Vera, which would spiral Jennifer’s mental health downwards. Jennifer would be manipulated and bullied by Vera for years, even loosing all of her friends because of her. She felt like she couldn’t do anything about it because Vera knew how to fake being nice super well. She also felt like there was no point to making or keeping friends because they would just leave her and would not protect her from her cousin. Her escape came in her mid teens when her aunt Margaret talked to her parents about how Jennifer could go study at some nice school in her aunt’s area since Jennifer had high grades. Jennifer took it and never returned to her parents’ place. Now she is 32, has completed university, and has a good resume she moved to Kensingley CA for a new job opportunity. Away from her past hopefully. Also, she is albino so she is pretty sensitive to sunlight and was a bit of a sickly child (doesn’t like admitting it though)
Jeremy, troubled child with a lot of issues. With parents who are very neglectful he has got into some shady business in his school (selling items and food for money), sneaks out of his house and ditches school a lot, and would get into fights. Until all hell broke loose when he got into a fight that caused his notched ear and got his favorite shirt covered in blood. This got him into deep trouble but it also got his parents into trouble because there was an investigation done on them. Through a lot of paperwork, therapy, and very long suspension from school he is now not with his shitty parents and has been adopted by Wercylti (my other oc) as his legal guardian. The school after a lot of leaps and legal work has allowed him to attend it again but he has to repeat the 6th grade, has to get good grades, make friends, see the school’s therapist, and CANNOT get into any fights or trouble. Hopefully with his new better home life he can be better.
Xyro, a ghostly monster dog that not much is known about them. Fern and Jeremy found them when they were exploring Ashbridge’s vast woods just hiding in a little rock formation. They are a very timid creature but slowly grew to trust Fern and Jeremy. Still timid, they tend to run from danger and hide but since becoming friends with these two children they will try to protect them as best as they can. They both named them Xyro (a reference to Zero the ghost dog)
You can find more info on them and my other characters on Toyhouse
Arcadia.
Burning Memory
Xyro, the jolly announcer, decides to take a walk, after a long day of writing letters to future fighters. However, the strange weather brings up something in him. (Post-World of Light)
TW: Minor Gore
Inside a small office, a Dilophosaurus let out an exasperated sigh while writing down the last words on a letter. Holding it to his face, he skims through the paper to find any grammatical mistakes that he left behind on his task. Setting it down, he proceeded to another letter. These letters were written by Xyro, the Smash League’s supervising and jolly announcer, and these letters are being written for future fighters that will come. Master Hand makes sure that these letters are formal in grammar and organization. It drove Xyro nuts, but the dilophosaurus feared a booming threat from the hand itself. One letter is focused on the Fighter Pass’ last fighter, and Xyro is ecstatic about it. Master Hand has told him about the future fighters’ identities and promised the dilophosaurus to keep it a secret. Currently, the secret is kept safe between the two, yet Crazy Hand has been begging the two for info, but Xyro expects a finger blast from the deranged hand’s brother to shut him up for good. The reptilian announcer smiled as he relaxed himself on his recliner and took a slow breath. Night-time sounds filled the air as Xyro closed his eyes for a moment. ‘Perhaps I should take a walk.’, he thought. After an extra minute of resting, he fixed his letters in an organized way, and stored them in a drawer to his left. Rising from his seat, he approached his coat rack and unhooked his mahogany trench coat from it. Buttoning it to himself, he then grabbed his coffee-brown fedora and exited out from his office.

Entering out to the front yard of the Smash Castle, the silence soothed his stress quickly and Xyro took a slow breath before venturing onto the plus-shaped path in front of him. A few bird-chirping can be heard and the water trickling down through a fountain marked in the center of the path.
Xyro took another breath.
Walking to the gates of the Smash Castle, he felt a sense of heat bite him. ‘What a strange and nocturnal weather we’re having...’, he wondered.
Wait.
Oh no.

Craggy Outlook
“We’ll each need to take down about 10.”
“Stow your fear. It’s now or never!”
“We’ll win this. I know we will!”
Those quotes echoed a feeing of determination, as Xyro’s concern began to tear down. The dilophosaurus was in his Announcer Headquarters, and he watched every fighter enter their battle stance on multiple screens. The room only contains a giant and wide screen and a hanging microphone next to it. Xyro clasped his hands together and whispered to himself to calm his fears down. The Smash League was facing another universal threat, ever since the Subspace incident. His grandfather was the original announcer during the Brawl era, and has brought down this incident to Xyro as a story recalling the events that swirl around a mysterious sea-blue humanoid known as Tabuu. The newest threat however, Galeem, was twice the threat. The blinding lights and it’s planet-sized appearance, speak of doom. Suddenly, Galeem began to absorb streaks of light onto its core, as Xyro’s fear began to fill his heart. An army of Master Hands began to shred their gloves, as the seraphic figure drank the last streak light.
The fighters’ and Xyro’s hearts began to accelerate.
Galeem’s core began to fade into a black hole, as the dilophosaurus’ heart began to pump.
SCREEEEEEEEE!
His heart exploded as streaks of light zoomed down like fighter jets onto the vulnerable fighters on the cliff. Link was the first to get vaporized by the light.
Then Samus.
Then Zelda and Mewtwo.
Then Sonic and Pikachu.
Then Pokemon Trainer and Bowser.
Then Captain Falcon.
Then the Inklings.
Then Falco.
Then Palutena.
Then Dark Pit and Pit.
Then Snake.
Then Greninja and Lucario.
Then Wii Fit, Duck Hunt, and Villager.
Many more got vaporized when they haven’t finished their last words or shredded a single tear in their eyes. Xyro froze with distraught as he squinted and scanned across the giant screen to find any survivors. There was one, and it was Kirby on the famed Warp Star, dodging every light that chased after him. Xyro silently cheered the puffball on, as he grabbed a coal-black trench coat and a fiery mask from a wardrobe.
Xyro, as the Inferno, decided to accompany Kirby on his mission to save the fighters as a way to comfort him on his one-Smasher journey. As the Inerno, Xyro is often described to look like Joker, but the dilophosaurus didn’t mind and chuckled as a response. To prevent further criticism, he claims to be “born in a volcano”(yet he was just joking about it). The puffball was about to form a tear on his right eye, but the Inferno soothed and shushed him appropriately. He told Kirby to quiet down, since it may awaken nearby Spirits, and the puffball agreed. Throughout their journey, they have both saved various Smashers, including Mario. However, approaching farther into the Light Realm and into an abysmal area, the two encounter a possessed Simon. During the attack, Inferno’s defense was vulnerable that suddenly, his left eye was violently axed from one of Simon’s weapons. Blood began to drip out, as the dilophosaurus cried out in pain. Shiek, who was one of the many Smashers to be rescued, ended the battle with a storm of kicks and slashes. Kirby rushed over and attempted to cease the pain that the Inferno is trying to endure. The puffball noticed the blood spilling from the dilophosaurus’ eye onto his hand, as Kirby whimpered and hugged him. The dilophosaurus did the same too, but eventually scooped the puffball up to his shoulders. The Inferno formed a tear in his right eye, but his left eye brought a trickle of blood that slid down through his cheek instead.
____
Xyro detached his eyepatch and looked at it solemnly. He reached the outskirts of Smash City, and he sat down on top of a building’s edge. Besides being the announcer, he is also in charge of maintaining the city’s safety, while defeating threats alike, whether minor or major as the Inferno. However, he wasn’t in his costume, and he is just wearing his city outfit. It’s been a year ever since the incident happened, and the Smashers returned in peace to the Smash Castle and are now doing their dust-cloud routine.
Yes, the random dust-cloud fights that drove Master Hand nuts, his deranged brother enjoying it, and Xyro between the unexpected conflict.
The eyepatch echoed the screams that got vaporized in Galeem’s attack, and it hurted Xyro emotionally. The heat began to bite through his feelings as he hung his head down and listened to the traffic below him. When he has to take surgery for his left eye in the Smash Clinic(where Dr. Mario works at), he felt remorsed for not gathering his strength to save the Smashers right before they’re taken away from the dilophosaurus’ very own eyes.
He would have been the first sacrifice under Galeem.
Xyro looked up to the night sky and took a breath of relief. ‘This incident is making me sleep.’, he thought. Removing himself off from the edge, he touched his left eye and he felt his hand going through. He immediately removed his hand and placed it on his hip.
He imagined those helpless fighters crying for help with powerful anguish.
He imagined that they emotionally suffered more than the Spirits that lurk around.
Perhaps there could be more Spirits out there that suffer equally or more than them, but it made Xyro feel more guilty when thinking about it.
Xyro, aka. The Announcer
Has an explosive personality, yet can take it literally. Xyro is also one of Master Hand’s top assistants in paperwork and taxes .
-A redesign of the previous Announcer concept, now with more charcoal colors.
-Xyro has the ability to change eye colors: Red when he’s content, red-orange when fuming, orange when highly furious. His “hair” will flare up when angry, and down when moody.
-My own version of said character.
