dick and jason regularly hooking up because jason really enjoyed his first time with dick and he doesn't feel comfortable asking someone else to fuck him. they use condoms at first but then jason wants to know how it feels without one. "it's okay, dick, we're both clean and i'm on T, it's fine." and dick can't say no even though he knows better.
fast forward to a couple months later, dick usually leaves until morning when they hook up now, leaving jason to sleep while he drives back to blüdhaven but this morning jason wakes up first... and he's in the bathroom... throwing up. shit. dick doesn't go in and bother him because jason will just tell him to fuck off. when he comes out he looks pale and clammy. "i told you that fucking takeout tasted weird." he grumbles before heading to his kitchen, the takeout tasted fine but dick can't say shit, otherwise he'll spook jason and he can't afford that. he thinks about ways he could get blood or pee for a test but jason is way too smart and he'll realize something's up, he can't sedate him because... well, because he can't risk it. he decides he's just gonna keep an eye on him for now and act like everything's fine. he could try and build a timeline but they've been fucking consistently for months now and he has no idea when it could've happened but he's pretty damn sure it's happening and he knows he should bring it up to jason, knows he should say something about "being on T doesn't guarantee anything, jay", knows he should give him the dignity of knowledge and his choice but he feels like he can't because jason will freak out and panic and push him away and he'll most likely get rid of it without even letting dick in on it and he would be well within his right but dick thinks maybe.
maybe if he can keep it to himself until jason hits twelve weeks, maybe if jason doesn't put two and two together before those he hits that mark, if he can stretch it a little longer, maybe he'll be lucky enough jason doesn't start showing until later... maybe he can get him to slow down or he can convince him to stay, maybe if he gets something that makes jason realize he's got something real with him, maybe he can stop the unnecessary madness, maybe he can finally get his jason back.
