Now, from what could be seen, Spirale wasn’t a totally-industrialized island, for having the city development practically being coast to coast. There were some parks, and there were some wooded areas. Seeing the occasional squirrel running around wasn’t too odd, and birds were plentiful.
All that being said, a fox prancing around the city streets was an altogether different matter.
“H-Hey, hold on!” Rock Volnutt called after the tiny creature zipping down the sidewalk, his pressurized boots giving heavy footfalls as he sprinted after it for all he was worth. “That’s really dangerous! C’mon, stop!”
Nearly bowling over a small cluster of pedestrians, the Digger vaulted clear over them, giving a small sigh of relief, before realizing he’d almost forgotten his objective. Luckily, he saw it-- a small shadow ducking into a nearby alley!
He rounded the corner, and--! ...Nothing...?
Puzzled, Rock took a few steps into the alley. Other than a fire escape on the right and a dumpster on the left, there was nothing there, certainly no exit on the opposite side. It couldn’t have vanished into thin air... He must’ve got turned around at some point.
That’s weird... What was a fox doing in the middle of town, anyway? A small sigh, followed by a shake of the head. Can’t believe I lost track of it; poor thing could get hurt wandering around in the street like that...
