It really wasn’t scene, but well-- it was still ‘Welcome Week’, right? And to be truthful, Jackson had never been to an actual concert before, so why not go to one that was basically free?
It was still a bit of a culture shock, the ‘college experience’, and it proved especially true when he was surrounded by hundreds of students who seemed much more at home in the concert venue than he did. “Ah, sorry,” Ernesto said as he reached for his scattered pile of books and papers. “I did not realize I’d taken up so much of the table. There’s quite a lot to do as the semester starts, you see.”
“Okay, I know the whole ‘shows up fifteen minutes late with Starbucks thing’ is a terrible cliché. That’s why I decided to double down with a pumpkin spice latte. Go big or go home, right?”
