Hinata Shoyo - Sho thinks your height is one of the coolest things about you! He’s definitely your biggest fan and he brags to anyone who will listen about how high you can jump/reach. He’s also definitely a little jealous and he’s not so great at hiding it either. Despite that he’s still your No.1 hype man, especially whenever you're feeling insecure about how tall you are, he’s the best at reassuring you and making you feel good about yourself. Loves jumping up to kiss you (or at least trying) it usually ends with the both of you clutching your nose or mouth in pain after he misses and your faces clash
Kageyama Tobio - Kags doesn’t really think about the fact that you're tall/taller than him often unless someone else brings it up, he sees it as a strength, not something to be ashamed of. If you are taller than him he’d definitely be a bit jealous but never mention it, you’ve caught him staring off to space multiple times when you two have been hanging out, oblivious to the fact that he’s calculating how high you could jump/reach for a spike or block on the court. He def teaches you how to hit one of his sets.
Tsukishima Kei - Beanstalk power couple. Need I say more? Kei isn’t jealous of you at all but he definitely thinks that tall people are superior. He teases Hinata and Nishinoya about his girlfriend being taller than the both of them, they go feral every time. Likes the fact that he doesn’t have to bend down to kiss you, it’s more efficient and ‘less corny’ - according to him.
Yamaguchi Tadashi - My poor little insecure boy :(. He’s def embarrassed about it but it’s all directed at himself, he thinks that he’s the problem and that it’s his fault for not being taller. Tadashi definitely thinks you're cool for it though, he just overthinks your dynamic too much and what other people might think. Loves that you can wear each other's clothes without anything being too long/baggy.
Thinking of tsukiyama as kids makes me cry
THEY'RE SO CUTE. just two little nerds getting excited at anything and everything relating to their special interests. for Tsukishima it's dinosaurs, and for Yamaguchi it's insects. Yamaguchi comes over ALL THE TIME to Tsukishima's house just to nerd out with him
He's over at Tsukishima's house SO MUCH that Akiteru starts telling people he's got two little brothers instead of one. But of course, if you're Akiteru's little brother, you'll never escape his loving teasing. he teases Yamaguchi and Tsukishima all the time for being nerds.
But he loves them both. very very much. those are his baby brothers
Haikyuu First Year Headcanons !!
Tsukishima
When you ask to try on his glasses, he'd let out a scoff and say no, but with a little more begging, he eventually gives in and lets you try them on. He will never admit it, but seeing you with his glasses on (even if he couldn't see too well) was a cute sight he'd remember forever.
I know this is kinda cliche since this is in every headcanon post ever, but you two have study dates, sometimes with the other first years tagging along. But when it's just the two of you, he'll visibly be a little more gentle. When you don't understand something, he'll act annoyed that he has to explain it again, but in reality he actually doesn't mind and really likes it when you ask for help since it known that you feel safe around him.
One time Akiteru walked in on you guys cuddling. Tsukishima paid Akiteru half of his allowance for a month to keep him quiet about it. (Though Akiteru wasn't even going to tell anyone in the first place, but money is money, so he accepted it)
Tsukishima doesn't really enjoy pda.. he thinks it's gross to watch couples make out in the corner of a room or to the side of the hallway, but he'll make exceptions for you. if you wanna hold hands in front of a crowd, you bet he's going to. Before he leaves his last class to go to volleyball practice, he'll press a quick kiss to your cheek, forehead, or even your lips if he feels like it. but that's the most he'll ever do.
Kageyama
EVERYTHING is a competition between you two. Who can get to class first, who can text back the fastest, etc. But it's always a friendly competition. If he sees that you're not in the mood for it, he won't push it, and instead push everything else away to make sure that you're okay.
Sometimes he'll just have his head in your lap, your hands playing with his hair while he rants about volleyball. Whether you understand it or not, he's glad that you at least listen to him rant about the one thing he loves the most (he loves you more, of course)
Sometimes (most of the time) he gets bad grades which often ends in tutoring by you.. Even though you two are supposed to be tutoring after school, most of the time it ends in cuddling or making out. There has never been a successful tutoring session between you two.
sometimes he'll just invite you over to have "napping dates" which is exactly what it sounds like. he'll ask you if you wanna come over, when you come over, you two will cuddle in bed and nap together. He often asks this after a stressful test or a stressful game that's about to come up. it usually calms the both of you down.
Hinata
He'll try and get you to play volleyball with him, begging for hours on end. When you finally give in to play with him, he starts explaining the basics with a cute spark of excitement lighting his eyes up. If you get injured, he'll tend to those injuries with no complaint, only asking you if you're okay the whole time. (And apologizing, saying that it was his fault for dragging you outside and playing volleyball with him.)
You're most likely taller than him, and if you are, you have to bend down to give him a kiss. Sometimes, you tease him. When you can tell that he wants a kiss, you sometimes don't bend down, which results in Hinata jumping up and clinging onto you to get to your height. If you're shorter than him or just about the same height as him, he'll still cling onnto you like a koala.
Even if he is shorter than you (maybe, idk how tall you guys are..) he's still the big spoon. He loves recieving cuddles and all, but he likes giving out cuddles and affection more. He'll wrap his arms tightly around you, keep you close, tightening his grip every few minutes. He'll press kisses to your forehead and whisper how pretty you are into your ears while playing with a few strands of your hair.
Once Hinata gets comfortable in his relationship with you, he will never leave you alone. he's like a little lapdog. he'll climb into your lap randomly, lay his head on your chest and just listen to your heart beat, shower your face in soft kisses while you're trying to study. he's a sucker for affection.
Yamaguchi
He gets a little nervous when showing any affection. When he grabs onto your hand to hold, his palm is a little clammy and kinda sweaty since he's pretty anxious.. He'll keep a tight hold on your hand, not letting go unless you want to, of course. he doesn't want to scare you off by acting possessive.
Right after he confesses how he feels about you, (which happened at the end of lunch in the hallway) his next class was about to start, so he impulsively leaned over and pressed a quick kiss to your cheek before running away.
Anytime you call him a pet name or nickname he gets FLUSTERED. his face turns red, he starts stuttering and stumbling over his words, he's visibly SHAKING. but he loves it. he's just a little nervous ..
Yamaguchi LOVES it when you play with his hair. when you cuddle with him, he tries to sneakily get you to play with his hair by tucking his head right beneath your chin. Or he'll say something like, "I don't mind if you play with my hair.. y'know.. if you wanna," just to try and coax you to do it. you catch onto it pretty quickly, but you're not even mad. it's cute how he tries to get you to play with his hair without outwardly saying it. but you end up fidgeting with his hair Everytime.

He feels so high when he's with you!
He always claims to have fallen in love with you since your first meeting: one day, while running (he was late for training with his team), he bumped into you, knocking you to the ground; then, he stopped to help you, but by mistake he said: "You're so tiny..."; he didn't mean to be mean, and he was about to apologize, but the words got stuck in his throat after hearing you mutter: "You're the one who's tall"; that day he arrived at training not only late, but also red as a tomato
Despite the first words he told you, he thinks your height is very cute and, above all, perfect for him, since you've the right height to fit in his arms: in fact, he loves to hug you, cuddle you, or just have your body against his in some way
He'll never tease you about your height and, if someone does so, he'll run up to them and yell at them to stop (like he did to defend Kiyoko from Terushima)
He loves picking you up, especially while you kiss; sometimes he also does so to greet you after you haven't seen each other for a long time: he picks you up and turns you around, then he kisses you
Kageyama T.
The first time he met you, he was struck by your cuteness: when he had to introduce himself to you, his voice was trembling and he almost mispronounced his name (he really wanted to bury himself out of embarrassment); furthermore, he was terribly blushing and felt as if he was about to fall to the ground
When you two go out together, he's very careful not to lose you in the crowd, especially if there are a lot of people: he stands next to you and always holds your hand, not without blushing, to guide you
Once he lost sight of you in a store and got very worried; he looked for you in every lane, he was desperate, until he heard the loudspeaker: "Mr. Kageyama Tobio, come to cashier 12. We've found your daughter."; he tried not to laugh all the way home
His favorite thing to do is rest his head on yours, as your height is perfect for him to lean over, while hugging you from behind (because otherwise you would see his face red)
If he sees you cheering for him during a game, he'll feel very excited; if you even wore his jersey, he would literally die of embarrassment (Tsukishima will never let him forget it) and work even harder
Tsukishima K.
Whenever he can, he teases you a lot: he never misses an opportunity to do so, either through his gestures (for example by resting his arm on your head as if it were an armrest), or with words ("Oh? Sorry, I didn't see you, you're too small.")
Furthermore, speaking of words, he comes up with every nickname having to do with short for you: "chibi" (small) or "chibi-chan", "my little one" (with great emphasis on little)...
However, if someone makes fun of you, he stands to his full height and glares at him: he's the only one who can tease you
If you wear his clothes, which are literally huge on you, he takes the opportunity to tease you about your height, but he only does it to prevent you from noticing his embarrassment; if you also puff out your cheeks or pout in irritation, he'll have to cover the lower part of his face with one of his hands to prevent you from seeing his deep blush
One thing that amuses him a lot is when you try to kiss him, but of course you can't do it if he doesn't lean down ("Oh? Are you too short to reach me, chibi-chan?" "Shut up and lean down so I can kiss you, dummy!")
Yamaguchi T.
If you play with his hands and compare them with your smaller ones, he'll melt and blush very heavily; nevertheless, he loves holding your hands, precisely because they're much smaller than his
When he sees you in his clothes, especially in his team jersey, he gets so embarrassed he has to put his hands in front of his face or hide it in other ways; the first time he saw you like that, he fainted for a few minutes and, after he recovered, he couldn't look at you for fear of becoming dazed looking at your cuteness
He'll also die of embarrassment if you grab him by the collar of his shirt or the tie to lower him to your height and kiss him
Although he's a really shy person, I think there are moments when he becomes more bold and courageous: one of those is if someone makes fun of you (really, he totally transforms into another person and yells at them you're perfect just the way you're)
Some are subtle moments where he playfully teases you, but he stops as soon as he notices you're offended or saddened; others happen when he spontaneously picks you up to help you reach overhead objects you can't reach on your own or when you kiss
Nishinoya Y.
Since he isn't the tallest, and sometimes he felt bad about it, he doesn't want you to feel uncomfortable or sad about your height: if you were ever unhappy due to that, he, unexpectedly serious, would take your hands in his, whispering softly to you you're perfect just the way you're
Instead, if he were the one who hurt you, he would literally kneel at your feet begging you for forgiveness
He loves when you see each other after a long time and you run towards him and jump on him, holding him like a koala; he always grabs and spins you around a couple of times, and then he kisses you
Since sometimes neither you nor he can reach objects too high up on the shelves, he lifts you up to get them; one day, he did a really stupid thing: he took you on his shoulders, but unfortunately he slipped and you both fell to the ground (obviously he broke your fall and you didn't hurt yourself)
One day, during the time out of a match during which he wasn't in perfect shape, he saw you in the stands cheering him on while wearing his jersey; from that moment on, in that match no ball touched the ground in Karasuno's field
