Talking about illustration, cartooning and art school in one of the most futuristic buildings in Beijing! My one-day lecture/workshop in Beijing was so much fun, I met many talented students and got to share my experiences over the years. Many students flew in from other cities, by which I was equally surprised and flattered. Huge thanks to everyone who came! Learned that my lecture is considered 'Dry Goods' which meant 'raw concrete information' and that I have a very gentle voice when I speak in Chinese, I spoke about being an art student in a foreign country, preparing a portfolio for school and for clients, surfacing inspiration in a 'creative block', how to communicate story and deep emotion through illustration and how to be a better communicator while talking to a client. Big thanks to the wonderful and talented Kirk Liu from PSOne Art Education and for having me in their beautiful space in Galaxy SOHO in the heart of Beijing. Hope to do more workshops like this!
