Homemade fried peanut puff dumplings courtesy of @louisrhw. They go by various names including: yau gok, jau gok, gok jai, kok chai, etc. These particular fried dumplings are filled with chopped peanuts, coconut, sesame seeds and sugar and are one of my fave treats. I love eating them during Lunar New Year. ⬅️ Swipe to see the inside. They make special wrappers for them (which might still be available at Asian supermarkets) but I found a recipe which includes the dough. I think I’m going to try to make them myself so I can enjoy them anytime I want (not just during New Years). I added a 🔗 in my bio if you’re interested in making them too! #peanutpuffs #peanutpuffdumpling #lunarnewyearsweets #peanutpuffpastry #yaugok #jaugok #kokchai #sweetsofsf #sfeats #newyearsweets (at San Francisco, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/CLYkhDCBpkY/?igshid=h8azarpr03f5
