Project: Metalbeast (1995)
A directed by Alessandro De Gaetano, featuring special effects by John Carl Buechler, starring Barry Bostwick, and with stuntman and creature actor Kane Hodder as the werewolves.
The plot concerns a US Military/CIA program to obtain samples of werewolf blood to create an army of werewolf shock troops. When Butler injects himself with the blood, transformers and goes on a rampage, his superior Colonel Miller shoots him with silver bullets and has his body cryogenically frozen.
Years later, a team of scientists are developing a new type of synthetic skin using metal as a base. The problem is that it has a tendency to become harder than steel. It would be lethal to a human subjects. Miller combines the two projects with Butler’s frozen body as a test subject. When the silver bullets are removed and he regenerates, the synthetic skin takes hold and spreads.
Now, trapped at their isolated desert laboratory, the scientific team are hunted by a bulletproof werewolf that can shred steel.
