beca and chloe have been best friends since high school and when they were younger chloe always said to beca that she was going to own the local ice cream shop one day
she asked beca what she was gonna do and beca was like “idk maybe ill own that gross bar across the street haha”
“OMG THEN WE CAN WAVE AT EACH OTHER!”

and yet beca somehow ends up working at the bar, and then owning it and chloe gets ownership of the ice cream shop when the old owner retires (she’s worked there every summer since she was 15) and chloe’s like “BECA WE’RE LIVING THE DREAM!” “okay chloe”
they move into the apartment above the ice cream shop together and chloe is so excited and okay beca’s happy too she has a decent job and gets to live with her best friend so theres not much more she could ask for
except, okay maybe there is
because there’s this super pretty blonde who comes to the bar every friday, always orders a vodka cran, and never really says or does anything else besides read a book
but beca is fascinated with her but cant bring herself to really talk to her much
she’s affectionately nicknamed her vodka cran, and the second she sees her walk in the door, she starts making her drink which makes the blonde flash her a really pretty smile and beca is very gay
one night, another regular walks in. beca remembers her saying her name was stacie a couple of times and she always flirts with someone at the bar and ends up taking them home
beca has hoped quite a few times that she would be the one to go home with stacie one night, and they’ve flirted a little, but nothing beyond that
tonight, though, the target of stacie’s flirting is vodka cran and beca has Very Confused Feelings about this

chloe on the other hand, is obsessed with this girl who comes into the ice cream shop a lot
she’s found out that her name is emily and she’s in college and wants to be a teacher, but she has a YouTube channel where she does covers and also some originals
emily comes into the ice cream shop to write sometimes and chloe always chats her up, talks to her about her classes and otherwise
chloe always talks to beca for like an hour about things emily’s told her and beca’s like “dude just ask her out”
“ive been flirting with her for months and she’s oblivious!!”
“just straight up ask her out then.”
so chloe does, and emily is so happy and excited!!
emily probably shows up at the apartment with flowers for chloe and chloe is swooning because she’s!! so cute!! and charming!!!! and ahhhhH!!!!!!
they go to the movies and have dinner and at the end of the date emily brings chloe home and asks if she can kiss her and chloe just pulls her in by her shirt and emily’s like !!!!!!
chloe walks in and beca’s like “so did the date go well”
“yes it was magical”
“yeah i bet it was, I heard someone get pressed against the front door.”
