blorbo rotation wheel has landed on miquella today

y'all have i told you how much i love miquella. (i 100% have but i'm going to again.)

we could debate for years about the details but at the end of the day: miquella loved the world and the people so damn much that he chose to tear himself apart, throw himself away, surrender himself for even a chance at pulling the world out of the pit it had fallen into. miquella saw the brutality of the shattering, the injustice of malenia's situation, the cruelty of the golden order; and rather than just let them all go on, he chose to face them and try to change them. miquella gave love to the unloved, yet in his desperation to pick up the mantle of god because no other empyrean could or would, he neglected to love himself to the point where he carved himself away.

and then, when he becomes a god, when he walks resplendent and beautiful through the gate ready to begin a voyage of compassion... some tarnished kills him, and in his dying moments, all he can do is cling to radahn; to the one who was meant to be by his side at the end of all this.
