Maybe he and Louis can figure out their own ways to keep dancing, anyway.

This fic was written for the @finelineficfest​ and is based on the song Treat People With Kindness, which more than any other track on Fine Line makes me nostalgic for the Love On Tour shows that I haven’t attended yet. 

Gillian’s writing perfectly captures the feeling of having a crush that you don’t quite understand as a crush, and I found reading that part of the building relationship to be healing. She also has a way of writing these moments that make me flail so hard that I almost need to stand up and do a lap around my house before I can continue reading. I really, really want to quote lines here to show you what I mean but they will give too much away (although I will say there is such a perfect use of “it is what it is” that I’m mad that I didn’t write it). I had planned to read this for the first time bit by bit, dance by dance – since it takes place over several dances over the years – but I couldn’t put it down; I had to know what was going to happen next. 

In conclusion, this fic has everything: Softness. Tenderness. Longing. Awakening. The word we speak but do not name: L-O-V-E, love. Heartache. Acceptance. Joy. Celebration. The ending will leave you both satisfied and yearning for that one perfect night of community that we’re in store for whenever Harry is able to tour.

look, we all know that this fandom deserves more f/f. and my (another_Hero) personal favorite f/f ship in this fandom is Alexis/Twyla, no question, I support all your Stevie-laden f/f fic and will obviously read it but HAVE YOU CONSIDERED LADIES NIGHT INN? yeah_alright ( @uhohmorshedios ) does the SWEETEST job with Alexis and Twyla being GALS and PALS and with all the ways that they’re incredibly different and some ways that they’re surprisingly similar. there are FACE MASKS! there is ALEXIS being a BULLDOZER and TWYLA being CHARMED! it has perfect voices for them and Alexis saying things like “it’s like a very chill invigoration” and Twyla noticing that Alexis isn’t wearing a bra! it is CHARMING and DELIGHTFUL.
