Left brained magic faxx

The magic names are not indicative of what you think, left brained black magic isn't voodoo and spirit summoning, the branches describe the circumstances under which the magic is conjured.

Magic, also known as abstraction, is the branch of magic that deals in complex acts hidden behind simple interfaces. This is the basis of the cell phone app magic programming. Basically, abstraction is doing a lot, or a big thing, without seeming like it. Left brained magicians have really streamlined and made abstraction more accessible as a medium of conducting magic. Early abstraction would involve linking a rune or equation to a much larger set of equations, and was generally a lot more time consuming, since it involved calculations based on values the magician could not account for until a value was used in the equation. Computing simplifies this immensely, making abstraction one of the fastest, and most used, branch of left brained magic

Deep magic, or esotericism, is a more recent branch of left brain magic that refers to the use of older, more heavily guarded and secret, techniques in conjuration. Because of this, many esotericism techniques involve various geometric runes, sigils, patterns, and the like, drawn with mathematical precision in order to resonate with the fractals of the physical plane. The methods behind rune geometry are often a common topic among newer left brained magicians, as the math behind them is a lot more straightforward, but rune geometricists, mathematicians who specialize in geometry-based magic, aren't very forthcoming with how to draw them, and esotericism involves a lot more studying of old techniques and patterns, along with actually showing enough aptitude to get noticed by the local scribes, as esotericism techniques are to be shared by them, and geometricists, only.

Black magic is antitheoretical magic, and often the first type of left brained magic that young left magicians will use, either knowingly or unknowingly. The field of antitheoretical magic is still, fittingly enough, very much unknown to the left brained community. Where abstraction involves hidden calculations, and esotericism has old techniques, antitheoretical magic just is. There's no real explanation on how it works, other than it just does. Scholars and scribes seem to believe that black magic is a sort of safety net against incorrect calculation or improper rune geometry, often acting as a self preserving phenomenon. Antitheoretical magic manifests when a coding sequence, geometric pattern, fractal equation, or similar fractal manipulation device, should not work, and yet does. It's also believed that this could be due to the magician's innate fractal manipulation kicking in and "filling in the missing spaces" so to speak, willing a magic to work even when it doesn't. Magicians who practice, or study, Antitheoretical magic tend to be seen as slackers grasping at straws, only utilizing magic on the bare minimum level. But most antitheoretical scholars will tell you that there is still a lot more to black magic besides being a failsafe.

Okay, that's about it for now, i should think more about right brained magic, also coming up with a more concise gestalt guide, we'll see, i'll give it though, BUT i have come up with a new name for possession gestalts, because that's so cumbersome, now they're Nephilim level gestalts, aww yeah, sounds cooler, might also be indicative that magic communities could know something about possession after all???? maybe???? who knowsssss, alright, cool

Do you believe in magic?

teleportation is not a thing, too risky, and the general rule of thumb is that stuff that spreads you across the universe (or universes, considering on your outloook) isn't something to be messed with. Plus, both magics have different explanations as to why it's not possible, with left brains being convinced that splitting yourself across dimensions won't guarantee recombination, while right brains believe that the human pattern doesn't transfer well across the prime (or universal) plane.

Magic is not to be used to create anything full sentient, that is a huge taboo not only because of ethical reasoning, but because the human consciousnesses is the only sentience capable of fractal manipulation, creating a sentience magically can potentially be incredibly dangerous, think making a cat that can control other cats. Dead raising is also prohibited, due to obvious reasons, but also because common dead raising techniques are the creation and utilization of possession level gestalts. No person can ever come back fully human.

magically generated matter, without either a core or constant attention by it's caster, dissipates really quickly, and anything destroyed my magic will revert after a while, this is because magic in general is non-corporeal, given that it comes either from other dimensions, or from a twisting of the prime plane, it can't alter this universe, only temporarily disrupt it. this is why manmade structures haven't been completely nuked by magic yet, and while magical battles are more of a temporary nuisance when it comes to property damage. The only thing that can be permanently injured by magic are living things, the exact reasoning why being pretty hazy, stuck between a "magical mind makes magical pain real" and "the living are specially susceptible to magic".

Maybe i should take another look at gestalt levels, possession level is such a mouthfulllll, but next, we're gonna talk about left brained magic son, aww yeah
