Meowrails.

Meowrails are amazing just because their premise is that they are an established, healthy, pale relationship.

It's a bit funny because if they hadn't been in a relationship when the comic starts, I'm not sure how many people would have shipped them as pale (I mean, there would have been people, of course, but how big would their pale ship have been?). We don't get a lot of them in canon, only a few things that end up being pretty superficial, like the sweating and the shipping charts.

They do balance each other out though! On the one hand you have Nepeta, who even though has a wild lifestyle even by troll standards, is very passive and friendly with everyone in her group of friends. On the other you have Equius, who lives in a mansion, is high classed, but is very much not in control of many of his emotions. He is the unstable one most of the time.

At bare bones, pale relationships are about pacifying. Nepeta, I think, is attracted to Equius' rage because she sees someone who is a bit like a beast. He is angry and a hypocritical and really needs to calm down and think about the things he says.

She steps up to the platter and does her job. Equius says that she goes above and beyond the call of duty which makes me think that even after pacifying him, she still tries her best to make him feel comfortable and more at ease with himself.

Nepeta, of course, also has her moments when she can be too playful, too emotion ridden. Equius brings her down a notch in this case. He has prevented her from going off and maybe getting hurt from flarping. He directs her to be more serious is manners that she would have maybe taken lightly. This, I think, is how he balances her out.

In then end, yeah, these two also bring me pale feels. :P
