Alex Snaps

Alex looked rough, then again, they always did. Hair disheveled, bruises littering their skin, and what appeared to be a scowl across their face. They were in a bad mood and had likely just barely gotten out if an argument with their dad. 

"Howdy there Alex, ya… ya doin okay? Need help cleanin' up?" Ritz asked gently as he saw their bruises. 

"Did ay say ay needed help cleaning up?! No." Alex snapped, clearly still fuming from whatever had happened earlier. 

"Whoa there partner… no need for an attitude. Jus' asking ya a question is all." 

"Ay don't have an attitude Ritz, and don't jus' ask me a question either. Ay'm not in the mood… just. Can ay have my stuff fer Willow?" They snap again and mock Ritz's accent as they do.

Ritz was fine with Alex snapping at him, he could understand being upset and lashing out. He knew they didn't intend to be mean and would apologize for it later but mocking his accent had been over the line. They had made the conscious decision to be mean when they made the response personal.

The cowboy felt a pang of hurt go through his body, he had heard people mock him before and now it was like he was at the stable. Where Krissy, the bitch who rode on his equestrian team always mocked his accent, calling him stupid, and making him feel like his slow drawl held him back from being seen as intelligent. He felt his face heat up as an annoyed scowl crossed his face. 

"That's enough out of you Alex, you're playing a game you won't win, hun." Percy interjected hoping it would be enough to stop the yelling match that was about to begin. 

However Percy's interruption wasn't enough to offset the tension between the two. 

"Alex, ah'm gonna ask that ya nicely ta be on yer way before ah start yelling at ya right here." Ritz snapped, his voice shook from pain and anger. 

"Or what're ye gonna do if ay don't? Beat me? My dad's already one step ahead of ye." Alex said, brushing it off. "Now can ay get my stuff fer Willow?" 

"Alex. Ah'm gonna give ya one chance ta leave, ya can come back when ya attitudes changed. Get. Out." Ritz said, his voice raised. 

"No." Alex responded. 

"Get the fuck outta my store Alex! Just get out! Leave!" Ritz finally snapped to yelling, he felt bad as he saw Alex flinch from the outburst.

Alex screwed up their face into a scowl, looking annoyed. They got up into Ritz's face, and began yelling back that they wouldn't leave, not without the supplies. The pair began to yell at each other, throwing cruel words and letting their faces get red as both argued. 

Percy glanced over as a customer entered the gas station to see a blonde cowboy yelling at a slightly taller kid who looked to be wearing rags. Percy immediately apologized to the customer before grabbing both and dragging them to the backroom. He sat each one on a box, a disappointed look on his face. 

"I better not hear a word outta either of you til I get back." Percy snapped before turning tongo help the customer and apologizing for his "friend" and "sibling's" behavior. 

Percy re-entered the backroom, his arms crossed over his chest and a disappointed look on his face. He looked between the two still fuming young adults. 

"Firstly, Ritz. You know better. You and I know that you know better than to snap at them like that." Percy started and watched Ritz turn his crossed arms into more of a self hug. 

When Percy turned to address Alex, they had a more smug look on their face. 

"Alex, you aren't in the clear either. You said some awful things to Ritz, you hurt him… now I don't expect either of you to apologize right now but I hope you think about your actions." Percy said, his voice stern.

Percy turned to go tend to another customer who entered to pay for gas.

Ritz hugged himself, feeling bad for yelling, Percy was right that he shouldn't have snapped like that. He glanced over at Alex who was beginning to calm down as well, he could see their body trembling slightly as they began to realize what had happened. 

Alex tucked themselves away in the corner, trying to make themselves seem smaller to hide. They held themselves tightly, replaying the entire thing in their head again. Now, they were worried that Ritz or Percy would actually follow through and hurt them, they hoped it wouldn't happen but they had never done something like this to either boy before. 

"R-Rit-Ritz ay-ay-ay'm-m sor- Ritz sor-ry…." Alex stammered, tripping over their words in a panic. 

"Alex… Alex it's okay. Ah'm not mad anymore. We won't hurt ya, you're okay." Ritz tried to reassure them. 

He knew that after a while and some talking Alex would recover from the ordeal.

I was rewatching Sai's Lily's patron rant, and it got to the point of Lily talking about how you can get fired for the smallest shit which is true. Working customer service is hell, and if I could, I would become a streamer and/or youtuber.

So, hearing Lily complain about how hard her job is, and that reminded me of this one time I was working at Sonic.

So this happened like 3 years ago, and I was working at the drive-through, and this new girl (15) was taking orders. I was doing something else (I think I was making ice cream or just talking to someone), and I was called over because the girl was about to cry. I asked what was wrong, and she messed up on the order she couldn't hear the customer all that well (when I looked at the screen, there was like 60 or so orders of popcorn chicken) so I took the head set and tried to redo the whole order while apologizing but the damaged had been done.

The guy had completely lost it. Making death threats towards the 15 year old threatening to assault me. So I snapped.

The dude (he must be in his 40s) drove up to the window, and the yelling continued. He kept threatening to hurt the 15 year old. I yelled at him to shut up and to stop threatening us because we were still people.

Now I remember this pretty clearly because of how fucking funny this was. (It's funny now but not then)

Guy: I don't have to respect you look where your working at.

Me: Look where you're trying to eat at.

The yelled got even worse to the point he was about to get out of the car, but the girlfriend he had in the car kept him down he threw one last R-slur and I yelled for him to suck a cock and that I was gonna fuck his mother... I didn't get fired because we were really short staffed, and my manager was pretty chill. My manager did call and asked if I was okay and put me on leave for a bit.
