Cinnabar sighed as she held the communicator in her hands. She sat outside to calm her nerves, as she had been thinking about calling Yellow all day. She wanted to spend time with Yellow but never knew how to ask; especially when it was so easy to ask any of her other friends.
It was always easy to just waltz up to Lapis' house and plop on her couch like it was nothing. And that made sense, they were buds! Perfectly acceptable to just walk in like you lived there. She even had a key.
Cinnabar's eyebrows furrowed in thought as she continued to stare at the communicator.
So why was she so anxious?
But that's different. Lapis and Cinnabar have known each other for years. But if that's true, Cinnabar and Yellow have known each other for much longer!
Well, we've known of each other. Not in great detail either, I might add, the war general corrected in her mind.
Well, then maybe the relationship was different. They had only started talking not too long ago. Cinnabar's face flushes for a moment.
She's dancing around the thought that she may like Yellow in the way she likes Lapis, but something.. more.
Cinnabar quickly stashes the thought away. It's a crazy thought! Really, it is. And she wouldn't want to mess up whatever it is she has going on with her. It was just an offhand suggestion.
Cinnabar exhales again. She's been sitting outside for hours, and the sun is starting to set. The orange glow on her face was magnificent, and it seemed to hide her blush well, she thought.
She wanted connection, she wanted to see someone else. She hasn't in so long.
And she misses her.
Cinnabar opens up her communicator and pressed on Yellow's contact. "Good a reason as any.", Cin mutters, pressing the call button on her communicator and waiting for a response.
