I know it would take years before South Korea makes a GL, but I see Jeongnyeon:The Star is Born as a start. It takes guts just to adapt a sapphic webtoon but it happened. Gayness might just be implied in the drama but I believe it’s a great beginning of the birth of GL in Kdramas since it always has a great rating.
Also, I love the fact that Thai GLs comes out every month, but nothing really beats Kdrama’s production, story telling, cinematography and acting, so I really hope I’d get to see a legitimate mainstream GL Kdrama in this lifetime.
Jeongnyeon Yeongseo sketch
Short craze here, my dream is for every fruit to check out Jeongnyeon: the star is born. A very artistic Kdrama about traditional Korean stage play-opera all female troupe (hence, all female main cast :D). Phenomenal acting, awesome different plays within the show, and the chemistry between characters are just so good it’s like they invented lesbian yearning gaze in Korea 1950s
Woochan and Yeongseo's soul connection
Disclaimer
This is a soul connection reading. This reading doesn't confirm that they are dating. This reading is all about the reason they met, why it happened, and what this relationship is supposed to teach both of them or just one of them
"Another boring reading meh" ~ Blondi 04.10.2025 14:29
*the king of cups follows the queen of cups, the page of cups follows them both*
"Holy shit" ~ Blondi 04.10.2025 14:30
queen of cups, king of cups rev, page of cups, the fool, 4 of pentacles, 2 of wands, the tower, the emperor, 3 of swords, 8 of cups
Right from the start, we are introduced to two figures that perfectly summarize their personalities and their roles in their connection. We have the calm, nurturing, and empathetic queen. And the cold, manipulative, and immature king. They both come from the same suite of cups. However, I feel that I must mention it. I have no idea which one of them is the queen and who is the king. Woochan or Yeongseo. I didn't shuffle the deck and drew cards that would represent them with the intention to see which one is which. In the reading, I will solely focus on them as the queen and the king without knowing which one is which.
So we have two cards, the queen and the king of the same suite, with the king being in reverse. We have here a divine couple, soulmates. They are in different energies. One is a healed feminine, and the other is the wounded masculine. The relationship between them is about giving and taking, but their dynamic is unbalanced. The king demands emotional support from the public, and the queen of cups watches it in silence. The queen of cups is a shy card. The woman is smart. She listens to her emotions, but she doesn't talk much about them. Her focus on her feelings and emotions. She takes care of herself, and while she does that, she is looking for people to share her heart with. The king of cups in reverse, on the other hand, sees himself as a victim, someone who needs help and demands it. The king takes but doesn't give, the queen gives but says nothing because she is worried about the king. She endures his bad behaviour in hopes she can heal him, change him. She accepts this behaviour and makes excuses for him, rationalizing his bad behaviour as simply being in pain.
From what I see, the queen has hopes for a new beginning with the king, as this will pass, and they can live their lives carefree, free of pain and the past. I see the king might follow, but for him, it is more surface level. He isn't genuine. That's not his plan or his goal. I see the king's heart is closed or the king's mind is occupied by his ambitions and his future. Both of them strive for the future. Both of them are ambitous, they want to become big, become richer, more famous, but the queen's motivation comes from the place kf love and compassion while the king's source of ambition comes from fear.
Beyond that, I suspect their relationship, whoever they are to each other won't last. Their presence, especially the queen's. She is here to help the king heal and change his perspective on live, his values. This could come with quite a shock,it could be abrupt, but the queen might one day become frustrated with the king's behaviour towards her, his manipulations, and the victim mindset. She will realize the king isn't good for her. He doesn't take care of her the same way she does for him. The king isn't good for the queen's well-being, so she will leave, and she will leave a mark on the king. She will not go away in silence. It's going to be a big event in their lives. It will transform them and heal some parts of their souls so they can build their lives separately in peace, knowing that the other person taught them how to live their lives. The king will become softer, less judgemental and more secure in himself and his emotions while the queen, well the queen will become more outspoken.
Once again, this reading doesn't prove they are a couple. They can both fulfil their roles as friends or colleagues. I hope you enjoyed the reading.
yeongseo is so petty and i love her for that
