Just a reminder, when Jacob says : "let us be monsters, be problematic..." he is talking about narrative freedom.
About the right for black characters to be complex, morally ambiguous, and flawed without being held to some impossible standards of "respectability politics" He is asking people to stop demanding that black characters be perfect in order to be worthy of interest. And I think this is truer than ever in the context of this show and its fandom particularly.
It's not and never been about erasing racism or denying abuse. It's was not about ignoring everything, or for black characters to just accept being mistreated for the sake of the story.
I feel like too many fans either refuse to see it or are pretending not to.
I would also say that It's the same vibe as when people hide everything behind the "gothic genre" excuse (but that's a conversation for another dayor not).
Why does this matter? Because as Jacob said, we aren't used to seeing Black characters represented in this genre. In mainstream fiction, white characters are allowed to be monstrous, complex, cruel, desirable, and contradictory. Black characters however, are often either extra moralized, extra victimized, or reduced to their suffering.
Jacob is saying: let us be flawed, dangerous, and ambiguous too.
He is not saying: ignore the power dynamics.
And yet, too many are using his words or parroting other people's interpretation as :
"JaCob sAiD hE wANted TO be proBlemATic, so stOp tALKing aBout the RaCIsm/the ABusE"
No he never!!
Anyway, that's how I see it. Feel free to add your thoughts, as long as we keep it civil

hii... it's been a while
i feel like sanji was so exhausted that when zoro simply dragged him onto the sofa for a nap, he didn't even resist (that much).
when he woke up a couple of hours later, somewhat confused, he felt a weight on his chest. a physical weight, not just the mental one after realizing he was running late to make dinner. his chest was full of a captain drooling in his sleep, and the moss he'd been resting on wasn't showing any signs of moving anytime soon.
he definitely wasn't either making dinner soon.
God I need soft moon so much why can't he be real rn
