The exact science and documented experimentation with the subject of ghosts has always been (and Jongin expects will always be) a little hazy. Things that have to do with the human soul and condition are just slightly beyond what he believes science can reach, and visa versa; there are too many things that science explains that are often too complex for the human mind and heart to willingly understand. Even though Jongin thinks himself a man of definiteness and physics, believing the body can be mapped out entirely through chemistry and biology, he also cannot shake the belief that there is something else too.

Something.... incorporeal.

A soul, if you will. Almost entirely improvable, that's what makes it so interesting, so hunt-worthy. Maybe it's a stray part of his physiology, a random thought of immature boyishness, but he wants to see one. He wants to see ghosts.

So when Sioh suggests they go into one of the oldest school building at the academy to call to the Other Side, he is ready to go by nightfall. He carries with him two EMF detectors and one hand-held device he made himself that is tuned a little bit more sensitive, along with a copy of the building blueprints (don't ask where he got those), and night-vision goggles that are strapped to his head. "Are you ready?" he asks Sioh, his blood searing through his veins as he meets the other boy past midnight in the courtyard of the school. It's chilly out here, but that's not why Jongin is shaky.

It’s a known fact that Jackson tried to cook a few times but it was a fair failure. He’s good into doing a lot of things, but cooking something actually eatable is definitely not one of them. And every offer people give to either buy him food or cook for him is accepted with open arms.

But Sioh was one of those he didn’t even bother to wait in being invited, sometimes asking the younger to prepare something he’d been wanting to eat. All out of heart, to be honest, he really liked the boy, as much as he liked his twin brother. They were good to him and so was he to them—at least, he thought and hoped he was.

Jackson watched him as he cooked for them, chin resting on his knuckles while his elbows were on the counter. If anyone looked at him at that exact moment would think he looked like a hungry child… or maybe a puppy, one of those who are just waiting for the food to fall on the floor so they can have a piece.

As soon as he saw Sioh putting some of the food into a bowl and handing him, he looked down curious. “So, what is this?” He asked, grabbing his chopsticks and blowing some of the hot air that was coming off the meal. “It smells great! Does Taeoh know how to cook as well?” He questioned—more to take notes on which twin had each talent, as he noticed they were different but almost the same somehow.

After a few bites, Jackson sighed satisfied, eyes closing, barely believing that he actually found someone who actually cooked perfectly (in his opinion). He hadn’t find anyone like that so far, besides his godparents.

“This is one of the best meals I’ve been having since I got to Sunhwa.” He laughed after he finished, grabbing the younger by his shoulders and dragging him to his side. With his arm around him and one hand grabbing on the other’s chin, he pressed his lips on his cheek, letting go a second later. “God bless you, Do Sioh!”

WHEN SHE ASKED for Do Sioh’s help, she did not mean this. The sun was setting and she had student council paperwork to do so someone needs to explain to her why by the universe’s mighty forces was she in the girl’s locker room instead of doing actual work.

She always had a short fuse and as the sun was setting, Sioh was lighting the fuse. “Do Sioh, you have three seconds to tell me if you’ve found something or I swear something bad will happen.” Jiseul crossed her arms, frown etched on her lips, giving the first year a hard stare.

It’s as if first years don’t use their heads. That’s what they’re for. Their brains are just sitting in their heads for storage apparently. Jiseul exhaled a long sigh, aggravated and stomped over to her locker, opening up the combination.

“It’s not here. I checked. I’m a very meticulous person and I don’t deviate from routine. They should be here, and they weren’t. Or else I wouldn’t have asked for your help.” She slammed the locker shut with a loud crack that echoed through the room. Her quota for bullshit was filled up for the day. Marching in front of the younger boy, she placed a firm grip on his shoulder. “When you say you solve crimes, let’s hope for your sake that you actually solve them.” Sioh wasn’t that much taller than her by one or two inches. So it was fairly easy to look him in the eye and with a low tone, you could say she was telling him how this was gonna play out. “You’re going to find my cleats. I want to know who stole them and I want them back.”

what the heck? what the heck? what. the. heck???? is this supposed to be some kind of prank? are the underclassmen trying to get back at the third years for the countless generations of hazing? is this what it is? sowon looks up at him -- not like there is much to look up at. he’s practically her height. freshman, she deduces. but, to be fair, she’s seen some small second and third years here and there.

“kkoma-ya,” she gives him a small smile. forced, yes, but that didn’t mean it isn’t pretty. then again, isn’t everything she does pretty? at least that’s what mommy, daddy, and maybe everyone in the world says. then, she begins to bat her eyelashes. it certainly isn’t a necessity, but no one seems to resist it -- people usually ran far, far away from her to prevent themselves from falling for her, after all! a killer move, if she says so herself! 

“you think nuna’s pretty, right?” the answer better be a ‘yes’ or he’d wake up one morning floating on a dinghy on the east sea. “and because nuna’s a cheerleader, cheerleaders are pretty, right? but, no matter how pretty a cheerleader is -- even a male cheerleader, they should never ever wear a skirt!”

as she wags her finger, she shakes her head side to side. a male cheerleader wearing a skirt? oh please. isn’t a cheerleader someone that makes the audience happy and excited, not to traumatize them? sensing an eye roll coming, she keeps her eye muscles still.
