Ellenor was disoriented. So disoriented-but all she could feel was fury and sadness. She didn’t want to think about it any longer. She walked over to her closet, carefully stepping over destroyed items and nearly tripping over herself, browsing through to grab a baseball bat, finding an empty room in her house.
She held the bat unsteadily, and then bashed it into the wall, maiming a dent. She dropped the bat unceremoniously to her feet, her hands simultaneously crunching into fists.
Ellenor punched the wall where she had created the dent as much as she could. Blood marks formed on her bruised knuckles, dripping down the palm of her hand. They let out a sickening crack with each hit. It seemed like nothing to her. Nothing at all.
Ell pulled off her crown and threw it to the floor next to her, allowing it to clatter along with her baseball bat and scythe. She looked to the remaining untouched surface next to the dent and banged her head into it repeatedly.
Once.
Twice.
Thrice.
Countless times.
Her hair only became more disheveled with each thud, her heart pounding so loudly in her ears that she was convinced it would give out any second now. The loss of direction caused her head to spin; collapsing backwards from the purposeful dizziness.
A mess. A literal mess. Yet, it wasn’t the physical damage she was inflicting. The sparked fury coursed through her veins unprecedentedly.
Ell reached for her lighter, sitting up and pressing it to her arm. Without hesitation, she flicked it on and off quickly, allowing the sudden burn to seep through her skin.
She couldn’t help but form a smile at the corner of her lips, dropping the lighter besides her and securing her arms around her legs to pull them in tightly.
