introducing the new yan oc!! his name is sorta still in the works but i have a few in mind, i'll pick soon :3

he grew up in a cult, and it took a long time for him to break out of the brainwashing, and even LONGER to escape

eventually he was able to settle down a city, something busy with lots of people and places, something with surveillance. something to protect him from being taken away

it makes him anxious to go outside, but it also makes him anxious to stay in for too long, so he decides to go out one night to buy his first pack of cigarettes

after his purchase, it's time to walk home. the two of you stand side by side at the crosswalk. being strangers, he pays you no mind, and you pay him none either

the crosswalk signals to go, and all the cars stop except for one

he doesn't see it, but you do

just as the car is about to make contact with his body, you grab the collar of his shirt and yank him backwards as hard as you can.

he hits the ground and skins his elbows, but once he sees the car driving away, it all clicks into place what almost happened

as he looks up at you from the ground, as you help him stand back up, he immediately feels a connection to you. it feels like God put you in his hands, and him in yours. like the two of you were meant to be family, but you never got the chance until now.

he begs you to let him repay you, but you refuse. you're just glad he's okay

you go your separate ways, and life continues as usual in your perspective.

he follows you to your next destination, keeping himself alert for any dangers that might come your way

he follows you home. he memorizes your address and bus routes, where you work, where you like to hang out

he tries to bump into you at the grocery store, at the gas station, at bars. he's anxious to speak with you and ask how you're doing, since all he can see is only from afar

as time goes on, it starts to make him itch.

the need to protect you becomes overwhelming. it keeps him up at night, wondering if you're safe in bed sleeping or if you're out somewhere in danger

any person you speak to could be dangerous. any place you go, you could get hurt. the thoughts plague him, so much so that it makes him physically sick sometimes. he starts having nightmares.

two months go by with this song and dance, he starts seeing familiar faces, ones that belong to the cult members he once knew. he takes it as an omen

it must be God warning him that viktor's on his trail, right? and if that happens, if he finds you, he'll take you away from him

so he does what any good brother would do, and he protects you from harm. nothing can hurt you if he always knows where you are, if you're always kept in his home.

just trust him, kiddo!! you'll be safe, even if you can't see it yet.
