“Going back to the start” 2014 (Europe), 2016 (Laos) / pencil on paper, embroidery stitches on fabric / A group exhibition at Yiri Arts Taichung (片片日常 A Piece of Daily｜自由日精選展—台中 伊日) These two pieces of pencil drawings are both my travel notes. One is the 42 days journey around Europe when I was a half-year exchange student in Helsinki, Finland on 2014; another is the 8 days trip in Laos on September this year. The most vivid memories were from the trees I met in the two visits. I still am able to recall that beautiful unknown trees at the corner of our hostel “Sleep in Heaven” in Copenhagen or watching those trees passing by on the TGV train from Paris to Nice. And that spiritual experience I had in Laos was just speechlessly healing.
Meeting these trees are just like meeting old friends for a really long time. And that emotions of being connected is a path for me to get closer to myself. 這兩幅相隔兩年完成的畫，是我分別在2014年歐洲旅行，以及今年夏天到寮國兩段旅程的筆記，旅程中，深刻心底的一切是與樹的相見；在哥本哈根青年旅館轉角相遇的大樹、從巴黎坐上TGV高速列車往南法路上遇見的樹群、在寮國騎著機車一幕幕經過擁有老靈魂的大樹，一次次的相遇都像是和自己，更大的自己對話；所以我將樹，記憶的樹畫下。
