Shauna stomping around being an asshole and general terror to everyone. Then you walk up to her with pouty puppy eyes and say “I don’t feel good”, and she immediately stops what she’s doing to take care of you. Because how dare her baby not feel good (besides the whole being stranded in the wilderness thing).

“Melissa, stop staring at those two and cut up the meat.” Shauna ordered. She had taken maybe too much of a liking to her new role as leader of this small camp, but nobody would ever tell her that, “Mari, Gen, get up and actually make yourselves useful.” The three of them scoffed and Shauna’s hand grazed over the sheath of her knife and that shut up any arguments.
Shauna sat down on the stump by her hut, sharpening sticks. She would sit and watch the camp as she did, making sure that everyone was on task and no one was out of line. It was a time that Shauna used to think about everything and, god, she was unfriendly if anyone interrupted her (unfriendly is a generous way of putting it).
But, the second I was in her view, everything changed. The light in Shauna’s eyes seemed to return and she would smile which Mari called, “Scary,” but I called, “Cute.”
“(Y/n)?” Shauna dropped the branch and stood up, resheathing her knife, “You look a little pale.” Shauna stepped towards me, her hand reaching for my forehead, “You’re burning up!”
“I do feel a bit sick.” I coughed out and Shauna frowned, shaking her head.
She took my hand in hers and led me to her hut, “Why are you wearing this fur cape thing?” Shauna raised an eyebrow, beginning to untie it from around my shoulders.
“Lottie gave it to me.”
Shauna rolled her eyes, “All Lottie does is cause issues. This was the worst thing she could have given you right now, doesn’t she know that? After I’m done taking care of you, I’m going right over to her hut and…” Shauna continued to ramble about how mad she was at Lottie for not taking proper care of me as she took the fur cape off of me.
Shauna helped me lay down in her hut and she grabbed her journal from underneath some of her clothes, ripping out a page. She sat down next to me and began to fold the paper into a fan which she then used to fan me to cool me off, “I can’t believe I didn’t notice you weren’t feeling well.”
“Shauna, it’s okay.”
Shauna shook her head, “You need my help, I need to care for you. I want you to feel better as soon as possible.” Shauna leaned her head out of her hut, “TAI!” She called out before returning her attention back to me.
It took less than a minute before Taissa was peaking her head into Shauna’s hut, “What is it?” She asked, clearly annoyed.
“Water, now.”
Taissa raised her eyebrow, “You can’t order me around like you do Melissa–”
Shauna gestured to me with her head before looking back at Taissa, “Water.” Taissa stopped talking and did as Shauna said, knowing better than to stand up to her when I was involved. Taissa came back with a glass jar of water. Shauna didn’t bother to thank her, but took the water from her.
Shauna dropped her paper fan and used one hand to hold the jar of water and the other to hold my head. Shauna helped me lift my head up and brought the jar to my lips, even tilting it back for me so I could drink from it, “You won’t have to do anything until you feel better, okay?” Shauna helped me lay my head back down and placed the jar aside, “I’ll take care of you, (Y/n), I promise.” Shauna leaned down and kissed my forehead before beginning to fan me once again.
Shauna sat with me for the rest of the day, even after I had fallen asleep. Shauna was practically taking orders from me. She was doing everything in her power to help me and to make sure I felt better despite the snide comments from the rest of the Yellowjackets who were confused as to how wilderness jigsaw managed to calm down in just a few seconds of seeing me.
Shauna was there when I woke up, ready to care for me. I could tell she hated seeing me sick, I could tell it made her heart hurt. I could’ve sworn I saw her even grip the fabric resting over her chest when she saw me cough. She brought me my breakfast, even giving me far more than any of us were allowed (not that anyone would dare say anything, even though Lottie did try).
“No one should get extra portions.” Lottie shook her head watching as Shauna placed more and more food into a wooden bowl for me. “(Y/n)’s sick.” That was all Shauna responded with because to Shauna that was enough. If I wasn’t feeling well, then everyone should stop what they were doing to help because Shauna truly viewed me as her whole world out here and Shauna would wreak havoc if anything happened to her world.
Could you maybe do something where Shauna is well - Shauna - in the wilderness. But she gets sick, and gets uncharacteristically whiny and clingy to her reader gf? Reader finds it adorable but everyone else is just like ??? The sniffles was all it took to calm down OShauna Bin Laden??

masterlist (requests = open)
“Don’t get too close to Akilah, she’s sick and coughing all over the huts.” Mari warned, using her petty remark to cover up her worry for her teammate.
“Ugh, is that why we have to carry all this food to the animals? I’m so used to Akilah doing this that I forgot how annoying it is.”
“Shauna was supposed to do it, but I haven’t seen her all day and there’s no way I’m approaching gaywad’s hut. I get that she’s your girlfriend and all, but…”
Before I could defend Shauna or even our relationship, Mari and I were both cut off by a soft voice coming from Shauna’s hut, “(Y/nnnnnn)?” Shauna’s voice rang out from her hut.
“Shauna?” I questioned and Mari took a step back from the hut as if I was about to poke some kind of beast.
Shauna’s head poked out from her hut, her shoulders covered with the pelt of fur draped over her, “(Y/n)?” Shauna sniffles, pulling the makeshift blanket tighter around her.
I shove the food into Mari’s arms who wastes no time in firing off a string of complaints to me as I make my way towards Shauna’s hut, “Shauna, are you okay?” I peek into Shauna’s hut to see her wrapped in our entire supply of fur pelts and random tattered blankets. She’s shivering and wrapped up to the point where I can barely see her face.
“Sick.” Shauna mumbles back, not bothering to turn to look at me. Shauna lifts her mountain of blankets up and pats the spot next to her on the ground.
“Shauna, I’ll get sick if I lay with you.”
Shauna whines, completely out of character for my usually scary girlfriend, “I need you, (Y/nnn).” She replies, her words trailing off into another whine.
I sigh, giving into Shauna’s demand. How could I not? I’ve never seen Shauna so needy, so vulnerable, and so…un-threatening…
I lay down next to Shauna and she quickly throws the blankets over me. She cuddles into my side, laying her sweaty head down onto my shoulder, “S-Shauna, you’re burning up!” Shauna ignores my concerned remark and continues to bury her face deeper into my neck. At this rate, I was going to burn up from the heat of Shauna and her mountain of blankets and pelts, “Have you been drinking water?” I ask and Shauna shakes her head.
“Haven’t left the hut.” She murmurs against my neck.
“I’m going to go fetch you some water.” I reply, attempting to sit up, but Shauna swiftly wraps her arm around my torso, pulling me flush against her and making me unable to get up.
“Stay with me, please.” Please? A demand with a ‘please’? This is new.
“It’ll just be a second, Shauna.” I plead, “You need water to get better.”
“I don’t want to be alone right now, (Y/n).” Shauna sounds weak and I can’t help but give in to her request. I sit there with her while she drifts off next to me. It doesn’t take very long, I think the heat of her illness is wearing her out. Once I’m sure Shauna’s asleep, I sit up. I carefully remove her arm from my waist and gently place it next to her. I slowly get up and make my way to the opening of her hut. I look back and hear Shauna’s quiet snores and continue leaving, knowing that she’s still asleep.
I grab a mason jar and some of the water we had boiled and fill up the cup. I had only been gone a minute before Shauna’s head pokes out of her cabin once again, “(Y/n)? You left me.” Her sad, weak voice calls out for me.
Natalie and Mari approach me, staring confusingly at the seemingly kind Shauna peering out from her cabin, “Shauna’s acting…different.” Natalie says, her and Mari watching Shauna with similar stunned impressions on their faces.
“What’s wrong with her? Did someone tranquilize the bear?” Mari asked as Natalie bit back a laugh. I elbowed Mari and she groaned, “What?! Last week she held a gun to Melissa and this week she’s begging for her girlfriend to come cuddle her and you expect me to not question it?!”
Van and Taissa leave their shared hut, glancing at Shauna who’s impatiently awaiting my return, “Who woke up Crazy?” Van asks and Taissa nudges her with a laugh.
“The better question is why she hasn’t barked any orders at anyone all day.” Taissa commented.
Our whole group stared at Shauna whose only response to the onslaught of teasing, which she could clearly hear, was, “Come back to bed, (Y/n).”
“Okay, seriously, what is wrong with her?” Van asks, her joking tone now faltering.
“My theory is still tranquilizer.” I rolled my eyes at Mari’s comment.
“I was going to say a body-swap scenario.” Taissa added, her girlfriend snickering at her reply.
“It’s freaking me out.” Natalie said and the group simultaneously agreed. No one was able to take their eyes off of Shauna, they were all acting like it was some kind of anomaly.
“I think it’s cute.” I reply, smiling as I watch my girlfriend beckon me over.
Taissa, Van, Natalie, and Mari all share a ‘what the fuck’ look which couldn’t be farther from mine. I can’t help the stupid smile plastered on my face or the fact that my heart was beating so fast that I was worried the girls’ might hear it.
I didn’t bother to listen to the rest of the remarks made; instead, I made my way towards Shauna’s hut with a glass of water in my hand. Shauna’s face immediately lit up upon seeing me approaching.
Once inside, I directed Shauna to sit up, which she did. I could tell her whole body was weak and that all she wanted to do was lay down and rest, but I was glad that she was listening to me for once. I grabbed her chin and lifted the glass to her lips, helping her tilt her chin back to take a sip of the water. As soon as the glass was about half empty, I placed it on the floor outside of Shauna’s hut.
“C’mon, (Y/n).” Shauna’s sleepy voice hummed out, lifting the blanket up once again and patting the spot next to her. I wasted no time in returning to my previous spot next to her. Shauna scooted closer to me, placing her head on my chest and draping her arm over my torso again. I wrapped my arms around Shauna, bringing her as close to me as I possibly could.
“You make this – the wilderness, the flu, everything – more bearable, (Y/n).” Shauna sleepily mumbled against my chest. Before I could respond, Shauna was already softly snoring in my arms.
Obsessed with Shauna being an absolute cunt to everyone except you. She naturally just strikes fear in everyone, but gives you heart eyes 24/7. Mari says something stupid and she’s ready to sacrifice her to Lottie’s tree gods (that she doesn’t even believe in). But you accidentally like, spill all the water she just got and boiled from the lake or something, and while everyone holds their breath waiting for a reaction, she’s just like “that’s okay baby 🥰”.

warnings: ONE-SHOT drabble of shauna being a terror to everyone like normal
summary: shauna is mean to everyone, but you.
“Can we talk about how your girlfriend fucking bit me?” Mari asks, holding her arm, “All because she lost at a game.”
“Shauna’s not that bad…She was just being competitive!”
“Competitive? Competing for a spot in the nearest ward.” Taissa says under her breath and Van laughs.
I shoot them both a glare, “She really isn’t that bad!”
The discussion was quickly cut off by Shauna stomping over, looking at each one of us in the group before speaking, “Which of you brought back shitty wet branches to start a fire with? How the hell am I supposed to get those to light?”
Melissa coughed, clearing her throat as she looked at her feet, “ I did.”
Shauna glared at her, “You all need to step it up and stop acting so fucking useless.”
Taissa crossed her arms, seemingly more unfazed than the other Yellowjackets who kept their heads down, “I can g-go get more.” Melissa replied, her voice cracking in the middle of her sentence.
“Yeah, go do that.” Shauna scoffed. Shauna approached the fire pit the rest of us had been huddled around, attempting to light it and finally getting it after a few tries (which she will never thank Melissa for).
Most of the other Yellowjackets disappeared the second Shauna made it known she would be in the area for longer than a minute. I left to finish up my chores, not wanting Shauna to be even more aggressive with any of the other Yellowjackets.
I washed clothes in the lake, ringing them out and then bringing the dried ones back to our little camp. With a pile of clothes in my arms, I headed back to camp. I walked past Shauna and didn’t notice the bucket full of recently boiled water behind her. I tripped, falling and dropping the clothes and spilling the entire bucket of water in one swift fall.
Shauna quickly got up as a reflex to the splash of water. The other Yellowjackets in the area winced, most of them staring at Shauna to see how she’ll react.
Shauna smiled, reaching her hand down for me to grab. I grabbed it and Shauna helped me up, “You okay, baby?” Shauna asked, using her other hand to brush the wet hair out of my face.
“Yeah, I’m okay.” I smiled and Shauna seemed lost in her gaze, not even bothering to rush to pick up our clean clothes that were now subject to the barren, muddy grass.
Shauna snapped out of her stare, looking down at the spilt bucket and clothes, “What are you guys doing?” Shauna spat, “Were you guys really not going to clean any of this up?” Shauna’s tone was low and contradicted the grin on her face, making her seem even more intimidating. Any girls in the area did not waste any time in beginning to pick up the clothes, one even grabbing the bucket and beginning to jog to the lake.
Once Shauna sees that everyone is fixing the mess I created, she turns her attention back to me, “We need to get you out of those muddy clothes.” Shauna frowns, “I would hate it if you got sick out here.” Her big brown eyes seemed softer now as she held me, not caring that my wet hair was dripping onto her or that my muddy clothes were touching hers.
“What the fuck?” Mari mumbles under her breath as her and Natalie pick up the now muddied clothes off of the ground

summary: one-shot drabble of lottie and you finally going public with your relationship.
masterlist
I had known Lottie for years. Whenever my parents would go over to the Matthew's house for business dinners, the two of us would be left together. It didn’t take long for Lottie and I to get close, especially since my parents always insisted that I have a good friend like Lottie around – which meant that they wanted to keep a good relationship with the Matthews. I don’t think either of us realized at the time that it would turn into something so much more.
I remember the sleepovers where Lottie would cuddle a little too close to me. I remember the school dances where she insisted that we both go alone. I remember Lottie’s hand always finding mine when we would watch a movie together. I remember the first time we kissed. We were in Lottie’s room, the both of us sent up there so that our parents could talk business. I remember sitting in Lottie’s bed with her while I flipped through the channels on her tv. I remember turning my head to look at her and Lottie had already been staring at me. I remember she leaned in to kiss me and I leaned in too. Nothing had ever felt so natural. It felt like we were made for each other at that moment, it felt like Lottie’s lips were made for mine.
Lottie wasted no time in asking me out the second we pulled away, rambling on and on about how she had the biggest crush on me for years and I wasted no time in telling her that I felt the same way.
We had been together for about two years since then and neither of us had told our parents. Anytime I brought it up, Lottie would shut it down instantly and it made us unable to be out at school either, since Lottie was scared that someone would report back to her parents since they did have a grasp on everyone in Wiskayok.
“Your parents won’t care, they love me!”
“I-I don’t know…” Lottie sighed, her hand instantly finding mine and entangling her fingers in mine, “They never approved of anyone I’ve dated before and I don’t want them to ruin what we have. It would kill me if they didn’t approve of you.” I rubbed the back of Lottie’s hand with my thumb as she spoke, her voice shaking slightly, “I didn’t care when it was with my exes, but…You mean everything to me, (Y/n). You’re my best friend, my girlfriend, my everything — I don’t want them to get in the way of this.”
“Lottie, even if they don’t approve of me, it won’t ruin this. I won’t let it, you won’t let it, okay? I just want to be able to call you my girlfriend in public. I want to be able to hold your hand in more than just a dimly lit movie theater.”
“I know, (Y/n), I want that too. It kills me that the only people who know about us are the Yellowjackets, I want the world to know.” Lottie paused, taking a deep breath in, “I will tell them over dinner – tonight.”
“Are you sure, Lottie? I don’t want you to feel pressured or anything.”
“(Y/n), it’s been two years of me making you put up with being a secret, I can’t do that to you anymore and I don’t want to do it anymore.”
It was common for me to have dinner with Lottie’s family since I always over her house anyways. When both of us walked downstairs, the table was already set with Lottie’s many helpers ready to serve the food that her private chefs had made. Everything the Matthews did screamed ‘rich’.
Lottie sat next to me, her hand interlocking with mine underneath the table.
“You can serve the food now.” Mr. Matthews said to his staff, watching them bring in plates.
Lottie held her free hand up, stopping her helpers from serving the food, “Can you give us a moment?” Lottie’s parents turned to face her, both looking at her with similar confused looks on their faces.
Lottie stood up, her hand still locked onto mine as she dragged me up with her. Lottie always had a thing for dramatics. She held our interlocked hands up, “(Y/n) and I are dating and we have been for a while now.” Lottie glances at me, her shaky voice soothing out as she did, “And I’m in love with her.”
I looked over at Mr. Matthews, scared of his reaction, but he was beaming, “Charlotte, this is amazing news! Not to be blunt, but the (L/n)’s are almost as successful as us, can you imagine what kind of success and fortune the two of you will bring to our families? I couldn’t be prouder!”
“This is amazing, you two!” Mrs. Matthews smiled. Lottie visibly relaxed, sitting back down with me.
Lottie turned to face me, grinning ear to ear, “We can finally be open, we can finally be girlfriends.”
The dinner went by smoothly with many comments from Mr. Matthews about how we could combine businesses in the future and how Wiskayok could be run by the two of us. When it was over, Mr. Matthews shook my hand, thanking me for my relationship and making an off comment about how happy he was that Lottie was not with someone poor for once.
The next day, Lottie showed me off. She was always one for extravagance. She held my hands in the halls, she walked the halls with her head held high as everyone turned to look at us, she even kissed me in front of everyone at one of our games.
The party we went to that night, Lottie was all over me and pretty much getting in everyone’s faces to tell them about me — “I’m dating thee (Y/n) (L/n).” She’d say as though she was not the most well known person in all of Wiskayok. It felt like all eyes were on us always and Lottie couldn’t love it more because everyone got to see her with me.

Lay All Your Love on Me | Pre-Crash Natalie Scatorccio x Fem!Reader
summary: one-shot where natalie is jealous and obsessed and in love because no one has ever made her feel the way you do.
It was a short conversation, one made when Natalie had stepped out to smoke and I stepped out for a breath of fresh air. It was a forgettable conversation had over a shared cigarette, but that didn’t stop Natalie’s heart from feeling like it was about to beat out of her chest. It didn’t stop the heat that rose to her ears or the shakiness of her hand as she passed her cigarette to me.
“Fun party.” Natalie spoke, bringing the cigarette to her mouth and taking another drag of it.
I laughed, “I can never tell if you’re being sarcastic or serious.”
Natalie shrugs, “Maybe it’s a little bit of both.” Natalie lifts her cigarette to my lips before continuing to speak, “Do you smoke?” She asked, “Take a drag.” She said, not waiting for my answer. Maybe it was the alcohol, maybe it was Natalie offering it to me, but I let her bring the cigarette to my lips. I breathed in and Natalie pulled the cigarette away and I breathed out the smoke.
Natalie smiled, bringing the cigarette to her lips once again. When she was done, her tongue poked out from between her lips, slowly moving over her own bottom lip. She convinced herself she could taste my lips on her cigarette and therefore on her own lips.
“Do you usually go to house parties?”
Natalie shrugged, “Only if the Yellowjackets make me. I’m not really into…” Natalie gestured past the glass door of the balcony where the loud music and drunk parties were, “...all that.”
“You didn’t seem the type.”
“What about you? I’ve seen you a few times at these things.”
“I guess I go out a bit, it’s pretty fun. I get to listen to shitty club music and drink someone else’s alcohol while dancing with my friends – it’s fun.” Natalie nodded and I continued, “It also helps that there’s always the potential for me to kiss someone.”
I heard Natalie audibly swallow and she turned to face me, leaning her hip against the railing of the balcony, “To kiss someone?”
“It is a party.”
Natalie’s eyes flickered from my eyes to my lips, but she didn’t move. She didn’t want me to know just how bad she wanted this. I don’t know which one of us leaned in first, but there we were; kissing. Natalie's lips brushed against mine twice, as though she were trying to memorize the exact feel of my lips. Her breathing was uneven, I could feel it against my lips. Natalie’s lips pressed against mine, it was gentle, but there was an obvious hunger there. Her lips parted just slightly, sucking in my bottom lip because she wanted to taste me.
“You’re addicting.” Natalie mumbled against my lips, her face turning red from her own corny, honest line. Natalie could have sworn that this kiss was better than any buzz she had gotten, that it was far more addictive than any cigarette or any substance had ever felt and she felt crazy for even thinking that. She had been with plenty of people before; felt more than just someone’s lips on her own, so why did this feel so different? Why did it feel better?
It was after that kiss, that Natalie started to attend every party. She wanted me. She wanted to see me.
God, why did she feel such ownership over a girl she met once?
I was dancing with some random girl when Natalie grabbed my wrist, pulling me aside, “What are you doing, Natalie?”
Natalie’s mouth opened, but no words came out. There was no explanation for why she was dragging a girl who she had kissed once away, but she couldn’t bear to see another girl’s eyes on me, much less her hands touching my hips where Natalie’s had.
“Natalie?” I questioned once more and Natalie stared at me, her mouth agape and her eyes widened as though she were surprised by even her own actions. Natalie’s hand remained firmly planted on my wrist and it took her a minute to fully comprehend what she was doing. She looked at my wrist and back at my face before pulling me into the nearest empty room with her, “Natalie, what are you doi–”
“I know we kissed once and it was maybe a drunk, stupid thing for you, but…” Natalie paused, feeling crazy for how strongly she felt for me despite barely knowing me, “Fuck, I want you. I can’t stop thinking about your lips, about your stupid smile, about the dazed look in your eyes after we kissed, or your stupid jokes or…” Natalie didn’t wait for a response, her lips meeting mine in a desperate plea of want. I think the kiss would have been rougher had Natalie not been smiling through it the entire time.
Natalie didn’t acknowledge me much outside of our weekly hookups. Anytime I brought up feelings or, god forbid, commitment – Natalie would shut down. She would tense up, she would tell me to get dressed and go.
It didn’t take long for me to take the hint; what Natalie and I had was nothing more than a hook up.
But, I couldn’t get her out of my head.
I found myself going out to every party I could, just in hopes that Natalie would be there. It’s so pathetic, but I can barely get myself to care — not when Natalie actually acknowledges me. Not when Natalie uses the liquor as an excuse to actually acknowledge her feelings.
“(Y/n),” Natalie smiles, just barely, “You’re here.”
I smile back, her paying any amount of attention towards me in public was enough, “Hey.”
Natalie shifts slightly, angling her body so that I could see the guy standing directly behind her, “This is (Y/n). (Y/n), this is Kevyn.” She introduces and I have to bite back an even bigger smile at the fact that Natalie was introducing me to a friend of hers. Kevyn rolled his eyes, taking a swig of his beer and not responding. Natalie didn’t seem to notice, or didn’t care. She wrapped her arm around my waist, pulling me against her side, “My two favorite people together at one party, I’m so lucky.” She laughed.
“Why didn’t you introduce us sooner?” Kevyn asks, his words slightly slurred.
Natalie’s smile falters and I can feel her grip on my waist tighten slightly. Was she confronting the obscurity of our relationship? Was she– “Never had the chance.” Sounds about right.
Kevyn tilts his bottle towards me, “Want a sip?” When I don’t respond immediately to him, he pushes the bottle against my lips.
“She’s fine.” Natalie responds, probably quicker than she meant to, reaching her free hand out to push the bottle away.
“She can answer for herself.” Kevyn huffs, “(Y/n), do you wanna go outside and smoke with me?” Kevyn glances at Natalie, he flicks his head up slightly to signal her to get lost.
“Are you that dense?” Natalie snaps before taking a deep breath and sighing, “I’m gonna go use the bathroom.” Natalie’s hand slipped from my waist into my hand. She lightly pulled me with her.
“You’re just going to leave him?”
“Do you want to stay with him or something?” Natalie’s voice wavered.
“No, Natalie, I-.” Natalie banged on the bathroom door, interrupting my sentence. When no one answered, she opened the door and dragged me in with her. She didn’t fully close the door, too focused on pushing me up against the sink. Her hands made their way onto my hips, her lips crashing onto mine with a desperation I hadn’t seen from her before.
Her hands slipped under my shirt, but didn’t move any higher than my waist. Her poorly painted fingernails dug into my sides as she sucked my bottom lip between hers. Natalie had a habit of bruising my lips; I think she liked that my now blue-tinted lips showed I was spoken for, but in a not-so-obvious way. Natalie’s hand tugged at my shirt and I moved my hand to her shoulder, pushing her off of me slightly.
“Natalie, someone could walk in.” I panted, catching my breath from the short, but intense kiss.
“So?”
“So? You’re the one that won’t even look at me in class because ‘people might find out’ and you’re okay with someone walking in on us hooking up?”
Natalie sighed, her grip on my waist loosening, “I..I’m not good at this. You care so much about me, (Y/n), and…and…I care so much about you.” Natalie paused, her words sounding unsure, “I know we’re not dating, but…Fuck, (Y/n)! I don’t want some dude hitting on you! I don’t want to see you with someone else.” Natalie’s eyes traveled to the crack in the door, “I left it open on purpose, okay?” Natalie admitted without me having to even utter a word, “I wanted someone to walk in. I wanted Kevyn to walk in. I wanted someone to know that this, what we have, is something – that it’s real, that you’re mine.”
“Are you kidding me, Nat? You’re the one who didn’t want this to be real. You’re the reason people don’t know!”
Natalie’s words came out weak and barely audible, practically masked by the music from the party, “I was scared.” If what we had was real, then it meant that it was something that Natalie could lose and that thought scared her more than anything.
We stood in silence for a moment, in complete silence as we stared at each other. I made the first move and I pulled Natalie into another kiss. It took her a second to return it, soon closing her eyes and immediately melting into my touch. It was nothing like our other kisses; there was no expectation of sex, there was no fear of someone finding out – it was nothing, but tender and loving. Natalie was gentle, her lips moved against mine softly. The cool porcelain of the sink provided a nice contrast to the heat radiating from Nat’s hands and lips. Natalie pulled away, a soft and content sigh leaving her lips. Her eyes were low and her pale cheeks were pink, “You okay?” She whispered as her hand moved to my face, brushing a strand of hair out of my face. I nodded and Natalie moved her hand to my jaw, her thumb brushing over my bottom lip, “C-Can I kiss you?” Natalie asked, as though we had not been in this scenario a hundred times before. I nodded and Natalie leaned in, a little deeper this time, but not hurried. I felt her exhale against my lips and she didn’t feel as tense in my arms anymore.
The bathroom door pushed open slightly, “You guys are taking forever–” Kevyn’s voice yelled out from over the music.

Why Does This Feel Right? | Pre-Crash Laura Lee x Fem! Reader
warnings: religious guilt, internalized homophobia
summary: Laura Lee one-shot. Laura Lee has a crush on you, she doesn’t quite understand it, but she certainly doesn’t like it. Sweet fluff with v mild angst :)
“Good practice.” Laura Lee said, patting my back in the locker room. Her touch always lingered a little bit too long and each time she would act surprised by her own actions.
“Thanks.” I smiled at her, her ears turning bright red in return. Laura Lee always had a dead giveaway as to when she was nervous; her ears would go bright red which would go unnoticed if her hair wasn’t always tucked behind her ears.
I heard Laura Lee audibly swallow, “God must have been on your side today.” She said, her hand dropping from my back.
“Yeah, something like that.” I mutter back.
“(Y/n)~!” Van called out, “How about you join Tai, Laura Lee, and I for an after practice lunch?”
I changed my cleats out for my sneakers and nodded, “Sounds good.”
The four of us went to the nearby diner. Van put in an order of fries before an of us could even order a drink, “I’m spoiling all of you today for such a good practice! Keep it up and we’ll make it to nationals.”
Tai jokingly rolled her eyes, “Are you going to have that same type of enthusiasm when the check actually comes?”
Van grabbed her own shirt, right over her heart, “How dare you!” She says, pretending to be insulted causing Tai to laugh.
The waitress sets down the basket of fries for our table and Laura Lee reaches for one as do I. Our hands brush before we can even reach the basket and Laura Lee immediately pulls her hand away, her ears and cheeks going red. Van and Tai exchange a look.
“I don’t bite, Laura Lee.”
Laura Lee nods as if what I said was serious, “I-I know…it’s not that…” She pauses for a moment, clearly trying to think of something, “I was shocked because we forget to thank God for our meal!”
“I am not doing that.” Van responds, taking a fry.
Tai continues, “If anything, we should say thanks to our waitress.”
Laura Lee’s head goes down, beginning to mumble prayers under her breath, “Thank you, God, for this meal we are about to have. Thank you, God, for my friends. I pray for them all to have good health and good fortune. I pray for these impure thoughts to disappear. I pray for my entire time.”
Impure thoughts? There is absolutely no way Laura Lee would say that unless Van and Tai corrupted her.
“Can you finally eat now?” Van groans and Laura Lee shoots her a glare.
“Yes, carrot top.” Laura Lee innocently replies and Van’s eyes go wide.
“Carrot top!?” Tai and I burst out laughing.
“You heard me.” Laura Lee replies, a small smirk making its way onto her face, “You’re just cranky about my prayers because gingers have no souls.”
Van gasps and I have to hold my stomach from how hard I’m laughing, “Laura Lee!” Van is too stunned to think of a witty reply. She desperately looks at Tai for some kind of defense, but Tai’s practically falling out of the booth from how hard she’s laughing.
We all settle down as Van mumbles something about how Tai was supposed to be on her side. I move closer into the booth and my thigh touches Laura Lee’s. She completely freezes, but doesn’t move away. Her hands move up to the cross around her neck and she desperately fumbles with it, running it between her fingers.
The meal went by quickly with a lot more bickering between Laura Lee and Van.
“I have to get home soon, I have to do an English paper that I’ve been putting off.” I said with a groan, “I swear our teacher hates me. She only gives me Cs.”
“Really? She’s never given me anything lower than an A.” Laura Lee replies, “Do you want me to look over your paper for you?”
“I would love that, but it’s due tonight.”
“Why don’t you come work on it at my house?” Laura Lee asks, a light red blush dusting her cheeks.
“You’d be okay with that?”
“Of course.” I grin at Laura Lee and she looks away from me, her hand reaching up to touch her necklace.
Van and Tai split off from us as Laura Lee and I went to her house. It was quaint. Her room was as expected, neat and decorated with crosses.
“You can sit on my bed and start writing.” I hopped up on her bed, still looking around her room and taking it all in. It was so…Godly? I felt out of place.
Laura Lee stared at me for a while, not moving from where she was standing. I felt a chill run down my spine — Was I doing something wrong? Did I accidentally sit on a cross or something?
“I want to kiss you.” Laura Lee blurts out, her fingers fidgeting with the cross around her neck.
“W-What?” My eyes widened and I could feel my entire face flush red.
“I know it’s wrong, I know that, but why would God make me crave something with the entirety of my being if I was not meant to have it? I know I’m supposed to resist sinful urges and I-I do, I swear! I don’t curse, I don’t smoke, I don’t drink, I’ve never dyed my hair, I-I…I’ve done everything with ease, but you…” Laura Lee’s chest is heaving as she speaks, “Why can’t I…Why can’t I stop picturing your lips? Why is it that when I close my eyes…I see you? It doesn’t make any sense! Why do my knees get weak when your hand brushes against mine? Why does my heart race when you smile at me?” She spoke as if she were begging for an actual answer, “(Y/n), I don’t understand…” She takes a step towards me, “The worst part of it all is that I don’t care. I don’t care if I go to Hell or if God never forgives me or whatever because I have never wanted anything this badly in my entire life.” Laura Lee grabbed the sides of my varsity jacket and pulled me against her, her lips meeting mine in an instant. It desperate, but gentle.
One of Laura Lee’s hands remained on my jacket, bunching it up and ensuring I do not move. Her other hand moved to the back of my neck where she kept my head locked in place, never wanting to stop kissing me. Her lips moved against mine slowly as if she was trying to remember every last second of this kiss, to memorize exactly how my lips moved, exactly how they tasted, exactly how they felt.
Laura Lee pulled away, gasping for air, her forehead resting against mine, “Your lips are soft.” She whispers.
“Yours are too.” Laura Lee leans in once more, kissing me against. If she was going to sin, then she’d at least make it worth it.
