really?! That's awesome; I have been for 7 years. There is a local temple here in Hampton roads I go to, but there really are not many resources in the area and most the people I run into are, white hipster yuppie kids that are trying to be "nu-wave" and ~culturally aware~ aka cultural appropriators. If you haven't, you should read the book "Dreaming Me" by Jan Willis, it's a really, really good autobiography on being a Black southern woman that picks up Buddhism.
