This man right here, cut my hair for two decades of my life. He was my barber but he was mostly my friend. He was one of those people that you have in your life for so long that you almost forget when it all began. He knew me as a teenager. He knew me as a father. And no matter where I have gone he was always what allowed me to come home to Antioch. I spent many hours on that chair talking to him about life, death, health, politics, and philosophy. We agreed on nearly nothing. But we always knew to end it with an, “at least that’s how I see it”. One thing we did always see eye to eye on was how fortunate we were. How fortunate we were that we had made it so long when so many others we had known didn’t. My sincere condolences to the family, friends, employees and loyal customers of Phil Youngquist.
