Discover Recipes for DIY Organic Yoga Mat Cleaners!
Laura Cerow, Founder of St. Larry's Organic Oils, Lotions and Potions, provides us with four effective and smell-worthy organic essential oil blends for making DIY yoga mat cleaners below.
Laura likes to use an organic Witch Hazel or Organic Witch Hazel Hydrosol as a base for her yoga mat sprays, but you may also use distilled water. (Since the waters do not contain a preservative, make only enough to use within about 2 weeks.) For approximately 4 ounces of spray, Laura adds around 25 to 35 drops of essential oil to about 3 ounces of the carrier fluid. When using the spray, you want to refresh and cleanse your mat without making it slippery. You may increase or decrease the number of drops based on your own preferences and the yoga mat that you own. When you're ready, pour your mixture into a spray bottle and always shake well before using. You may allow the mat to air dry, or you may wipe it dry after spraying with a clean towel.
