I bought this yoga mat in 2001 when my friend bought me a yoga video tape*. It's long. And it's sticky but it's so thin. I need some advice on a new mat. I want one that's long enough for me, sticky so I don't slide and it doesn't slip around preferably with a touch of padding. *video tapes were used to watch things using a vcr and tv, movies, shows, etc. Like netflix only broken up into pieces...like 1 show/movie at a time. (Before dvds, which were invented to collect scratches and be later turned into craft material for moms that like pinterest.) A collection of "tapes" would then turn into a focal point and large structures of furniture were made just to hold rows and rows of these tapes in their individual cases. You needed people to know when they came over that you indeed had options for them to watch. Yogi Advice

So yesterday I joined my schools yoga club and it was one of the bet decision I have made all school year! So the yoga instructor was insanely awesome and she gave me info about camel pose I never knew. When in camel pose, you stimulate your thyroid gland, which in turn boasts your metabolism!

Taking that first step can often be the hardest

It's not the lack of will power. It's most certainly not the lack of motivation. It's this feeling of "what do I do?" I've always admired yoga from afar but never new quite how to get into it. I'm always afraid to take that first step in fear of looking stupid compared to yogis who have been practicing the art for years. I'm now at this point. Looking at youtube videos trying to figure out which poses to do. I can try to find a class but how do I know which school is right for me? Although I need the exercise I want to find a school that will focus on the spiritual side as well. I don't want an instructor who only does yoga to burn calories. There's also that whole price issue. What's a broke college kid supposed to do? Some guidance would be nice right about now.
