Cook Out 2 Help Out (Part 2)

Yesterday was the last day of the repeat of the charity event that started last November of 2013, the "Cook Out 2 Help Out" which was held at the open space Plaza Drive in Powerplant Mall, across Hatch 22, Starbucks and Cibo. The event happened for 3 days, January 24 to January 26 2014.

The charity event's objective was to raise funds to help rebuild homes for the victims of the Typhoon Haiyan in Visayas thru the efforts of Habitat for Humanity. 

Tickets were sold at a minimum price of P300 entitled to a great cheeseburger, fries, and drink, or level up for an additional P200 pesos and enjoy a gourmet burger from one of our guest chefs depending on the chef on duty.

All of the best chefs in Metro gathered to contribute their best gourmet burgers, some of our local bands were also there.

aprons & tshirts were also for sale and sales of these will be donated too!

Participating brands like Pepsi Slush & Holly's were also there.. 

Through events  something like this, we can help in the recovery & rebuilding of their lives. It felt good to be able to help and at the same time you enjoyed the foods.

The Prayer: OPM Artists Uniting for Yolanda Victims

The Prayer is the song recorded by various Filipino artists namely Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Kuh Ledesma, Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Zsa-Zsa Padilla, Lani Misalucha, Noel Cabangon, Christian Bautista, Billy Crawford , Anne Curtis, Rachelle Ann Go, Erik Santos, Richard Poon, Yeng Constantino, Angeline Quinto, Karylle, JayR, Nikki Gil, Kris Lawrence, Iya Villania, Nyoy Volante, Sabrina, Shirley Vy (Tacloban Survivor) and The Loboc Children’s Choir Of Bohol, to represent our country and show the world that the Philippines has one voice, one prayer -- that we work together to help our countrymen rebuild their lives brick by brick. This song will be used to raise funds through downloads. The proceeds will go to the helpPH campaign, a project by the Philippine Disaster Recovery Foundation (PDRF). It is a non-profit organization made up of major companies from the private sector and leading NGOs. PDRF, organized in October 2009 after Typhoons Ondoy, Pepeng, and Frank to tap resources for reconstruction efforts during emergencies brought about by calamities, is one of the three identified institutional conduits approved by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas to facilitate cooperation and coordination between the Philippine government and the private sector in formulating and implementing reconstruction strategies.

Its goal for Cebu, Bohol, Zamboanga and now the areas affected by Typhoon Yolanda is long-term solutions and programs that will bring businesses and jobs back to these areas. They are also planning to look into better designs for houses more suited for a country that gets hit by typhoons and earthquakes. They are focusing on rebuilding the communities which includes: immediate help, provide housing, education by rebuilding school houses, providing economic incentives, and livelihood opportunities.
