One of my favorite blocks in the City, Doyers street. It's so eerie to see this place empty, even during a snow storm. Here you will find the most efficient post office, and a new mural every few months. I always knew that there was something odd about this street, such as it's steep curve and the fact that it's just a block long, but I would have never guessed it had such a violent past. - Below is a bit of fascinating history about this street from Wikipedia. Enjoy! -------------------------------------------------------- Early in the century, the bend in the street became known as "the Bloody Angle" because of numerous shootings among the Tong Gangs of Chinatown that lasted into the 1930s. Hatchets were frequently used, leading to the creation of the expression, "hatchet man".
