7. Who is your favorite underrated mi character NOT of the main team?

Well aside from Jane, Alanna, Paris, and Degas, I'm going to have to go with Brandt. He's just a silly little gay loser. I love him and his dynamics with the adorable found family in Ghost Protocol, it's SO fun.

10. If you could add any actor into the Mission franchise, who would you add and what type of character would you want to see them play?

I WANT TO BE IN MISSION IMPOSSIBLE!!!! I WANT TO PLAY ETHAN HUNT'S CHAOTIC LITTLE MENTEE. IT WOULD BE SOOO FUN. And I know nobody's seen anything by me (yet. my films are all indie) but I have the comedy chops enough to be a comic relief and action experience enough to kick ass. I mean, I'm classically trained for goodness sake. I Should Be In Mission.

17. If there was another mi movie, what would you want to happen in it?

Answered here and here, but I'll pitch you another one for shiggles. Picture this: a movie set in between mi1 and mi2, about Ethan and Sean Ambrose's growing friendship and then the scission that draws them apart. Ethan just lost his mentor in mi1. He's vulnerable. Sean likes being the center of attention. And he has a fixation with Ethan. They had... something going on. Okay, this is a purely lustful choice. I am attracted to the toxicity of Ethambrose. And I'm writing a fic about them right now (it's pure smut). I know, despicable. Let me know if you want the link!

ahhhh thank you, lovely! Okay, let's see what we've got - I've had to go across both fics, because somehow these letters aren't all in one! But have the first two from Brandt's baby fic, and the third from the Final Reckoning piece. W - "When are you getting rid of it?" There'd been one hell of a row after that, where he'd tried to explain that he wasn't ready. I - It was a haze of sleepless nights, 2am feeds, constant bouncing her in his arms as she screamed the place down. P - Paris had muttered something in the chair next to her, and when she'd glanced across she had her head in her hands.

I managed to write 348 words for "I Want Something That I Want," although it's still an uphill battle. I've asked @genfilst and @coffeeandbowtieswrites for help and have been pondering their responses, so I think I can maybe possibly almost be okay after I get past this one section... but I need this part to make sense and feel reasonable and damn are we fighting that out.

(I would like to hear about the Ethan vs Cats story ☺)

So "Ethan vs Cats," which I promise will have an actual title someday, was my first attempt at a distraction for myself when working on "Too Busy" started getting difficult, sometime in spring 2021. It came from having seen some gifs of Jeremy Renner with a cat and a conversation with my partner about sleeping arrangements, and how cats would love to sleep all over Will and it would make Ethan jealous.

Here's the gif, the picture I cannot find, alas.

Since I was writing a story where Will and Ethan were estranged I think I thought it might be nice to write a story where they were definitely not. So they're married and have a house in the suburbs, yay. It was my first attempt at writing an Ethan POV, so I got to lavish praise (and lust) on Will, and probably set the precedent for me enjoying tormenting Ethan by taking his man away from him.

I more or less have always known the whole plot structure, it was just a matter of figuring out how the various battles in war the between the cats and and Ethan played out, and how ridiculous it was going to get.

You in particular might find it interesting that it briefly touches on Ethan liking it when Will has a little weight to him (years before I ever would have said it out loud to anyone) and that resulting in a misunderstanding between them, but I've wondered if it now would come across poorly, so I've debated taking out a few lines.

And yeah! Until last week I hadn't touched it in at least 4 years. It may live yet!

8. If you had to write a sequel to a fic, you'd write one for...

I have this idea (delusion?) that someday if when I finish "Too Busy" I'd like to write Ethan's side of the story. Which would be very difficult not only because I don't know Ethan as well or as intimately as I do Will, but I'd have to mirror a number of scenes, which could get tricky.

I think about it a lot, though.

12. A trope you're really into right now

Uh... does ABO count? I don't know that it's even "right now," though I've been into ABO for a long time, I've just never written it out loud before. I guess I'm a little bit into the "causing a beloved character pain because my own feelings about them are, while also loving, much more vengeful than most people" trope, if that's even a thing. Or maybe "this character has suffered in canon, but they haven't suffered the way I want them to suffer."

16. Favorite place to write

Generally at night, in my room, on my bed, with headphones on an MST3K playing very quietly on the TV. I do sometimes write at my kotatsu in the living room; it was my desk for a long time when I had a bedroom big enough to accommodate it, but since it's in a more "public" place now, I only go out there if I know I'll be alone for a long period of time.
