Yosuzume Jimmy

Wanted to design my own take on Jimmy as a Yosuzume based on @askdacast's post about Hermitcraft/Life Series members as yokai. Might make more eventually, who knows

Okuri inu - 送り犬

The Okuri Inu looks just like a normal wolf or wild dog, the only difference being how ferocious they are. The Okuri Inu will follow a person on a mountain path at a safe distance step by step. It is believed that if a person trips the Okuri Inu will jump on that person and eat them at inhuman speeds. However, if the person does not trip the Okuri Inu will simply follow until they reach a town. This can be a good thing as the Okuri Inu are so vicious, no other dangerous Yokai or wild animal will come near the person they are stalking. The only way to avoid being attacked by an Okuri Inu after tripping is to make is look like you did it on purpose to rest. The Okuri Inu will wait patiently until you are rested and continue to follow you down the path after you get up. After getting out of the woods safely it is considered customary to turn around and say "thanks for seeing me off!" to the Okuri Inu. As well as, wash your feet and leave out a dish of food to show your gratitude to it for watching over you. If you do these things the Okuri Inu will never stalk you again.

Yosuzume - 夜雀

Yosuzume are a type of night sparrow that flock together on pathways at night. They surround people in an unnatural swarm calling out a chi chi noise. The Yosuzume themselves do no harm. However, it is believed that they are harbingers of bad luck and bring evil to those that they surround. In other areas Yosuzume are not seen as bringers of bad luck, rather they are considered a warning system. It is believed that if an Okuri Inu is stalking a person the Yosuzume will swarm that person in order to warn them to watch their footing and not trip as to avoid being attacked.

The Yosuzume, or night-sparrow, is a yōkai from Japanese folklore. It appears as a bird with a sparrow-like call. It appears at night to harass people who walk along mountain trails after dark. It is possible to be possessed by the Yosuzume, though a particular chant can avert this.

In some parts of Japan, the Yosuzume is a butterfly not a bird. Other variants herald disaster, or are accompanied by dogs, wolves and other yōkai.
