Only Stede’s allowed to say this to Ed, and only because it’s a term of endearment really, said with absolute affection.

You nut. Why did you go do the silly thing and hurt yourself?

I also wonder in 203 if Stede remembers using the phrase previously when he worries Ed might be mortally wounded by his sword. Turns out he wasn’t. Maybe Stede can evoke the phrase again with the same outcome - ‘You nut’ - maybe Ed can pull through this too…

I can imagine Ed can do anything… anything… and the most cross Stede will ever be is ‘You did what, you nut?’ And Ed will look pouty and sad. Meanwhile, Stede will feel terrible for being so harsh, cover Ed in kisses, and apologise for the rest of the day.

Listen. One of my favorite parts of the "stab me" scene is Stede calling Ed a nut. Like, I could listen to him say "I've stabbed you, you nut!" over and over again. It's sweet, incredibly endearing, and just so so silly.

And then the writers had the absolute NERVE to bring it back when Ed died? How did they expect me to recover from this? Why would they devastate us in this way? What gave them the right?

So once upon a timeI I had an enormous crush on a guy during my first university year. We had all classes together, and I was like Yurio infatuated with Yuuri - or Viktor, or Otabek, or whoever Yurio is infatuated with in your HC. The guy was beautiful, funny, smart, etc., etc., did I mention beautiful? We were almost getting there... and then, for reasons, he was forced to immigrate to Denmark, where he still lives; that was the,tragic in my mind, end of the romance.  We’ve lost touch for many years, and eventually reconnected through a common friend and FB. Today, out of the blue, he’s conducting a rabid anti-Halloween crusade on FB, because he doesn’t like it, it offends him, it a pseudo-tradition (it’s Samhain, you dummy, hundreds and hundreds years old tradition ffs), if children want to be scared, give them a day of bullying (WTF dude) and so on and so forth, Halloween should be abolished. He’s a decent enough guy, but totally pigheaded, prone to mansplaining, and his sense of humour and fun got somehow lost over the years. He’s deadly serious about everything. IF I had my wish to be together and in love forever...  it would be an ugly and bitter break-up and I’d probably end up hating him and his guts. Thank you, Providence, for not granting my wish. Sigh.

When I heard Monday, I didn't cry about it, but I was screaming internally for days. Did a few tribute posts on LJ so thought I'd put something up here. These are my favorite Keith Flint photos. The GIF was just for fun. The only other time I had ever seen Keith cartoonized was on Celebrity Deathmatch, and he's the only reason I even remember that stupid show.

He runs up like a little midget clown, hits Celine Dion with a chair, and then she rips off his head and turns into an alien. After I belly laughed, I was gripped with a deep melancholy. God dammit....stop being sad. *sniff*

The first photo was a recent picture I liked because it made Keith Flint look natural and happy...more of what he might be deep down, not just the side show freak he played on stage.

Second photo was a Rolling Stones cover I used to have hanging on my closet door for ages. I used to hate that rag because it was a left wing indoctrination pamphlet posing as a rock mag, but I wanted that beautiful cover of Keith Flint looking belligerent and defiantly ugly. I might have still had it today, only someone in my family likely sneaked it in the garbage when I took it down momentarily to fix my room up back in the day. I had to repaint and sand down the closet doors to repair years of damage from being a kid and hanging crap up all over my walls.
