I'm glad more people are learning about Deadwood but I would LOVE if they would all stop using the Deadwood tag to go "I dunno seems violent........"

Yes, it’s based on some not entirely pretty parts of history. The worst part is they often word their posts in a way where if you try to call them out you kind of sound like the asshole. Also I hate the fact that the tag is now filled with stuff dealing with UnDeadwood, which not surprisingly is often where the people who watch the show without researching and then start being stupid come in. I think one of the biggest tells that it’s not nearly as bad as these people claim is that I have two female professors who are very much intersectional feminists and they love the show more than I do. I just feel like some people don’t understand the difference between media that is problematic because it’s badly created and media that is problematic because it’s trying to make the viewers think deeper about it.

14. what books have made you uncomfortable? why? can’t think of any specific books, just generally descriptions of rape or excessive violence?

26. do you judge a book by the cover? normally I don’t; I’m super cheap so I’ll read the ugliest fucking edition if it contains the content that I want. Sometimes a cover will draw my attention to a book tho/make me want to read it in the first place
