          in a sense, yes, but also, no; there was a lot of pressure in the langdon household for tate to act mature and contained beyond his years. still, there was a lack of parental involvement from either his father, his mother, or the boyfriends she collected as stand-in paternal figures for her children. as a result of not being held accountable for his actions and having his extreme emotional irregularities written off as “sensitivity”, tate failed to grow up at all in a major sense.

            this is compounded by his death at the age of seventeen, after which he remains somewhat emotionally stunted at this underdeveloped age. he remains impulsive, selfish, and driven more by internal feelings than external realities or consequences, as is fairly age appropriate for a seventeen year old boy.

!!!!! canon  doesn’t  exist.  on  this  blog  it  was  a  botched  snap.  neck  snaps  don’t  heal :))))))))   what  killed  him  was  lung  water,  then  once  he  coughed  it  up  he  was  alive.   but  he  was  clearly  somewhat  paralyzed  ????  which  i  think  was  a  result  of  the  botched  soooooo   chad  had  he  survived  would  likely  be  wheelchair  bound.   /  @youngestharmon

Birds were one of the things that got Tate’s attention really quick. He always liked birds, even as a kid.  He’d seen birds live, birds die, birds hatch.  “Birds really are the most interesting species, you know. Like I said before, they have it so damn lucky. They get to just take off when things get too crazy. They’re not tied to one place for the rest of..well forever, with a bunch of assholes, present company not included, obviously.”  He sighed.  “But no, seriously, think about it, they’re born high up on a bunch of sticks, none of that weird blood and shit coming out of their mother, they get to pop out of an egg, look at their mother like, oh hey, I’m here. I mean really, maybe my mom would have been better with me and my siblings if we came out of eggs like birds. But, it’s not even that.  They basically get to go wherever.  Humans don’t get to do that. We have to live according to everyone’s rules but birds make their own rules, and they eat worms. I mean, that’s got to be cool, not that I want to eat worms obviously. I’ve always wondered what sort of bird, I’d be.  Like, sometimes I think I’d be a huge bird like an albatross but then sometimes, just a robin or something. I sure as fuck wouldn’t be a hummingbird.  I could never fly sideways. I’d be that bird who hits the window, for sure.” 

“You want to know what I think about…flannel?”  He’d never thought about it much, really, and that wasn’t the kind of clothes his grandmother had put on him. Now, he just kind of wore whatever, but his mind was typically on other things.  He killed a nanny once, who wore it though. He remembered he thought it matched blood.  “I had a sitter who wore it once. It matched her blood. I kind of just wear whatever. Grandma never really was into looking like that. She said that she knew an annoying farmer who wore it once..you seem to like it, though.  The black flannel isn’t so bad..”

My mom loves the Sox she's watching bahah. I'm not into sports, I want to play them, not watch them. MY AUNT CRIES WHEN THEY LOSE. //

I am so not into sports, except the Cubs. I was born with that. All the rest of them I’m just like, no thanks. I’ve learned not to cry haha.
