Holden was on a pretty bad blind date, but instead of leaving, he just went along with what they had planned. As he sat in the mezzanine he couldn’t remember exactly what they had agreed upon seeing, but before he could reach for the bill, the lights dimmed. Holden let out a soft breath, knowing that the awkwardness would at least stop the duration of the show. His eyes fell on the stage as he watched a familiar blonde stride to the piano front and center, it was like watching a ghost from the past walk into his life. The next hour and forty minutes were spent with his eyes locked on Athena, completely forgetting that he was on a date. The second that the lights went up, Holden apologized as profusely as he could on a rush as a sudden burst of courage coursed through his body as he made his way to the back door of the theater. Did he just become an orchestra groupie? Was that a thing? Holden was too concerned with not tripping and catching Athena, as the already tall man stood on his tippy toes to try to catch a glance between all the people coming out the back door. Then he saw the top of her head and he couldn’t help but smile as he wished he had those flowers he had given his date earlier, “Hey Attie,” he called out to the girl he once knew.
