I really hope the series will delve into why Yak believes he repeatedly lets down those he loves.
He mentions his brother, mother and Dee as those he’s disappointed. What is the backstory with the mum before she died? He wants to make her proud by graduating, but this outbursts suggest there’s more to it? Can’t wait for Lookwa’s character of the stepmum to show up and maybe shed light on this???
ALSO! After the first kiss Yak looked so sad at the thought that Dee only did it to make him feel better and not because he really wanted to.
He looked resigned to just being a consolation prize for Dee too. Like that’s all he could ever expect. I really hope they unpack the sense of low self esteem Yak appears to have as well. 🥺
Not just the kiss on the necklace but the way Yoyak is holding his hand and that final smile. Oh, we've already lost him, badly.
Yak is one of my all-time favourite characters. This man is wonderful, and Great's portrayal of him is just perfect.
I don't know what the best thing about the first episode of Wandee Godday was, but besides the Ace representation, the "the-eclipse-and-chill" moment and the fact that Wandee lives in room 609 (thanks P'Golf for all the references), I still think I need to emphasise how great the characters are in this show? They are such derps? We're on episode 1 and I feel like I already have a characterisation for most of the people? I'm sure it's partly because I've already read the novel, but the support roles in particular were barely thematised in the original book and have now been given character traits already and that's just...awesome? I love my characters alive and fleshed out lol. I'm looking forward to Wandee's grandma next episode and more content from Cherry and Oye!
Episode 2 of Wandee Goodday I really like the vibe of the series it's easy to get attached to Wandee and Yoyak the chemistry is there
Ter is literally the worst person at the event lmaoo all for a scholarship
The reason Wandee doesn't want to kiss Yoyak on the mouth makes me laugh out loud but I accept it because people really do that.
Excited for episode 3
