“Are you busy?” You whispered, peeking into your bedroom where Ryan had been chilling out, as far as you knew, after getting back from the race.
“Not really,” He groaned while stretching on the bed. He sat up on his elbows to look over at you, leaning against the doorframe now. “Why, what’s up?”
“Can I interest you in a game of doors?” You questioned. “My friends all dropped out, and I don’t want to play alone. It’s boring alone.”
“What the hell is doors?”
“Oh, you’ll love it!” You exclaimed, running over and throwing yourself on top of him. You knocked the wind out of him as he wrapped his arms around your back. You immediately winced when you landed harder than you originally intended. “Sorry, sorry, sorry!”
“It’s fine,” He chuckled, leaning his head back on the pillow to look up at you. “So what is this game?”
“It’s on Roblox, and it’s really fun. The goal is to get through 100 doors, and there’s a bunch of things being thrown at you. It’s really cool, trust me.”
“So is it like an obstacle course?” He asked, tilting his head slightly.
“Kind of?” You said in a higher tone than normal.
The more you thought about it, it was kind of an obstacle course. Just instead of things you had to jump on, it was creepy things you had to hide from. Okay, maybe not an obstacle course. Ryan must have seen your face change the more you thought about it, because his laughing broke you out of your concentration.
“What’s so funny?”
“You,” He finally died down, leaving a kiss on the tip of your nose. “But, sure, I’ll play with you. Do we need to be on separate PCs?”
“Unless you want to be on the stream,” You offered, shrugging your shoulders. Sometimes he does and sometimes he doesn’t.
“I’m good today,” He said, shaking his head as he rolled you over, so he was hovering over you before dropping down to land one more kiss on your lips. “Last one.”
You pouted, but he was already walking over to his own PC and loading it up. You huffed before trudging out to your own streaming room, loading up the game, and starting your stream. It didn’t take long for people to flood in and for you to start the lobby.
“Chat wants to know if you’ve ever played Doors or Roblox before, Ry,” You relayed the message as your characters messed around in the lobby.
“Bubba made me play dress to impress a few times, but I am so shit at it,” He answered honestly.
“One, rude. I wanted to play dress to impress with you, but I didn’t think you liked Roblox,” You scoffed, glaring at the camera as if he could see you. Spoiler: he could not. “And two, that doesn’t surprise me about Bubba.”
“Are we gonna play or what?” Ryan interrupted.
“Fine, fine, just follow my lead,” You trailed off, loading the two of you into the game. Immediately, you started messing around with him in the game. You were flying through the doors.
“This is so easy-”
“HIDE!” You screamed as the lights flickered in-game. You sent your character into the closet because that was the closest thing.
“What do you mean?” Ryan yelled back before answering himself, “What the fuck is that!?”
It went silent in the call and game for a second, and for a minute, you thought Ryan had actually died.
“Did you respawn yet, Ry?” You broke the silence, and you heard him let out a sigh directly into his microphone, causing you to bite back a smile.
“When were you gonna tell me this was a horror game?” Ryan said dangerously low into the microphone.
“Did I not mention that?” You played dumb. “Oh, well, yeah, it’s a horror game. And we only made it to door 12, so respawn! We've got a ways to go!”
