At first glance, she might have been taken for fragile - one of those quiet daughters of Skyrim, better suited to hearth than hardship. The worn fabric of her tunic and the rabbit-fur cloak draped about her shoulders told another story: of long days spent in the cold, of choosing function over finery, of a life inured to the biting wind.

It was her hands, delicate and youthful though they were, that betrayed her truest story - there, on her right wrist, lay a mark: a scar, jagged and dark against pale skin, healed poorly, as though the wound had gone untended or care had come too late. It was evidence, however unfortunate, and however of its attainment, of the harshness that Skyrim visited upon even the young.
