Friday afternoon, 4:20 p.m. Cold Yuengling Lager in my 29-year-old MSU mug.
Yuengling Lager
77 C+
This lager is brewed by America's largest and oldest brewery. It's only available east of the Mississippi. In all respects, it's a standard lager but features a caramel-backed biscuit malt with a crisp and grassy hop flavor. Malt is semi-sweet with a nice grain character equalized by mild hop bitterness. The body is quite light without being overly watery. In many ways, its like a Coors original, only with better flavor. I gotta give it to these guys for sticking to what they know and continuing to brew a classic beer. Pretty good for a lager, at least a notch above the other mass-produced beers. I recommend trying it if you're ever in that area of the country.
