Jólakötturinn the Yule Cat - V4 Day 25 - Grýla Yule Family series

From Icelandic folklore. Cat of the Giant Gryla.
Jólakötturinn / Jolakotturinn is the cat of Gryla who comes down from the mountain with her and her sons to cause mischief at Christmas.
It's name translates to the 'Yule Cat'. Jólakötturinn is a dark giant cat larger than a house, with intense or even glowing eyes. For lazy children who haven't earned new clothes by Christmas, even socks, for the new year, or are too lazy to wear their new Christmas clothes, it eats the child's dinner first, and then the children for dinner. Encouraging the kids to help with the wool and clothing making and remember to wear their new clothes. Or at least share their extra new socks with others.
This ones a more northern cat breed example.
What I used: Sanford colour pencil with Muji Orange 0.38mm Rollerball Pen, on Strathmore Toned Tan Large Sketchbook.

'Yule Cat' by Annika Weidner
The icelandic cat who eats those who are not wearing their new clothes.
The Jólakötturinn, or the Yule Cat is a monstrously large creature from Icelandic folklore that is said to roam the snowy countryside during Christmas, with a particular appetite for anyone who has not received new clothes before Christmas Eve or who did not wear them.
She is also the pet of the troll witch Grýla. She is used to threaten naughty children, because she loves to eat them. Grýla's sons are the Jólasveinar, the thirteen Icelandic Santa Clauses, dwarves who originally did not bring gifts, but stole things or played pranks. They are on the move between December 12 and January 6.
