We all damn well know that Yun Sol is not a crier. So for her to have tears in her eyes while telling Jiwan that she likes her, and that she won‘t do anything about it and then APOLOGIZING because she has fallen in love with her best friend, just gives so much more depth to her character. It is clear that Sol has been pining after Jiwan for so long and now she is terrified that she is losing her forever because Jiwan might not feel the same. Damn, i could feel the hurt through the screen...

And Jiwan, still not fully understanding her feelings but knowing that Sol is the most important person in her life. And her saying that she won‘t take back her confession and that she meant EVERY word of it.

Honestly, what a time to be alive. Their story and interactions are so well written. We deserve it. We deserve to have this kind of representation!

reasons why soljiwan works so well: a word vomit 1. FRIENDS TO LOVERS TROPE! they’ve been “besties since middle school”? and it’s heavily implied that sol has loved jiwan since then? (note: this trope works best when GAY)

2. they both have different love languages! jiwan is more touchy-feely and sol shows her love through actions, (giving jiwan her jacket, worrying about her, taking care of her when she’s drunk, etc.). this creates the need for them to navigate through each other’s love languages/acts of love! 

3. sol only being smiley and giddy when jiwan accepts her confession.

4. jiwan’s drunken confession+ assuring sol that she meant every word, with a BACK HUG

5. it’s so obvious to everyone else that they had a thing, with bit na and nabi practically endorsing it and everyone agreeing that they knew each other better than anyone else.

6. the continuous use of the swing sets as a meeting place!

7. jiwan not quite understanding at first why she’s so bothered by sol being with other people (i can say that when i had a thing for one of my best friends in middle school/high school i didn’t understand why i cared so much at first myself, so i saw a lot of myself in her)

8. nabi noticing the change in sol’s demeanor following jiwan accepting her confession and knowing that them getting together was why she’s so happy :((

9. THE FERRIS WHEEL SCENE!!!! sol knew beforehand that jiwan would be scared on the ride, and she made sure that she felt safe and comfortable the whole time, telling the other two in the ride with them to stop rocking it so she could calm down. and after sol holds jiwan’s hand, she immediately feels better???????

10. sol’s face when jiwan showed up to her presentation 

11. sol being so considerate of jiwan’s feelings and making sure that (a) she was completely aware of her own actions and would never make a move on her if that wasn’t the case (b) she did not feel pressured to accept her confession and (c) that jiwan knew that no matter what, she would always love her!
