Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee
The film follows the institution of the Dawes Allotment Act and seizure of the Black Hills, land sacred to the Sioux, and the resistance to it, principally led by Sitting Bull. This eventually ends in the massacre at Wounded Knee.
It’s horrifying and heartbreaking. This is a small snapshot chronicling the cultural and physical genocide of a people, and their destitution.
