Pudding Pudding, it's 5am and i can't stop thinking about Dream of Eternity merfolk au where the serpent is a water snake. I don't even know how it'd work, but mersnake!! Fangyue can't remember what color her tail was before she became the serpent
I had 3 months to rotate this idea in my brain and finally knew how to execute on this! I do wish to colour this at some point but I wanted to share what I drew today.
[image ID: a digital lineart drawing of Fangyue from Yin Yang Master: Dream of Eternity portrayed as merfolk. Her tail is that of a massive sea serpent. Her head is shrouded in long hair, flowing free and wild. Her arms are outstretched to the sides, her face tilted upwards. It might be a pose of power or of grief and anger. End ID.]
He Shouyue. Also on AO3.
Hiya! I understand that there's a difference between yin yang master and yin yang master: dream of eternity in that one is based on a novel and one on a game(?) im interested but im confused whether one is better than the other. do you have any thoughts/recommendation either way? thanks!
Both movies are worth watching!
YYM:DOE is the far better one, character and story wise. It's also the darker one, kind of "queer gothic" vibes to the aesthetic sometimes imo. The vibe is like... Men in Black but with dark fantasy lol, and if the main duo were a little more uhhh flirtatious. YYM:DOE also has a sequel movie that may come out this holiday season, and I am counting the days..... YYM:DOE is the film based on the original Japanese novel Onmyoji.
YYM, on the other hand, is based on the video game based on the original novel lol, so it's one step removed (which means the main duo protags aren't the same and there are extra characters thrown in). YYM is extremely gorgeous and high fantasy and I love all the settings, but as a story it's kind of lackluster. You should watch it mainly for the fantasy worldbuilding feast!
First summer break doodle, y'all!! (And look, this time it's actually a doodle and not a fully rendered picture, progress!)
@arcanelibrarian said: Ohhh, could you please draw Nie Huaisang and Qingming from Yin-Yang Master comparing fans and being unbearable together?
And that suggestion was just way too fun to not go with it! :)
And here we have the finished picture of a modern AU Qingming from Yin Yang Master based on a story me and a friend are writing together in which he knits and models his own knitwear and uh, does other fun things. His soft stomach is very important in this au and gave me the perfect excuse to practice drawing more natural looking bodies. :)
The lineart of this picture can be found here and the sketch can be found here!
[image ID: a fully coloured digital drawing of Qingming from Yin Yang Master: Dream Of Eternity. While it is a modern interpretation, his hair is in canon-adjacent hairdo with two long strands falling over his shoulders. He is sitting a bit hunched over, one arm lying on his own thigh, he uses the other hand to rest his chin upon. He is only wearing a pair of light blue panties decorated with dark blue lace and is wrapped up in a big blue, knitted blanket that covers one of his shoulders and one of his thighs. He has three golden dangling earrings in his ear. He is looking confidently at the viewer. A decorative circular frame sits behind him as the background. End ID.]
Your Highness, if you need me, I will find a way to survive.
A soft modern au Qingming from Yin Yang Master because I want to draw more natural looking bodies. :)
